Help with Latex paint on truck.

Hello all,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! A client of mine just called me frantically because he spilled latex paint in his truck bed and tried to clean it with a pressure washer, now he has white latex paint all over his truck liner and truck bed. Is there anyway to take latex paint off of car paint with out ruining it? The bed liner is a spray on bed liner, is there a way to take it off from there too?

The paint (latex) will come off with either a clay and/or polish.

God help you with the bed liner. If it's anything like my Ram factory spray-in, it's gnarly as hell.

Getting all of the latex out might be a lost cause.

Thank you! I told him I can take care of the paint, but the liner might be a different story as soon as he told me lol. I will try some apc on it and scrub to try and make a dent, but we will see. I read rubbing alcohol will work, but I'm not sure how safe that is.

Also, for any dried on spots on the actual paint, a plastic razor blade will work to "pop" them off, but could/will cause a bit of marring.

Ran through an unmarked freshly-painted yellow line in the road in 2014, so ask me how I know this. :(
 
Yikes! Have to love when they decide to paint the roads.

I will probably clay it and throw some hd speed on it to protect it for his next whoops moment. Lol

I would suggest the rough side of a sponge on the bedliner. I keep dish sponges for crap just like that, when it comes to paint on leather, bedliners, or even paint on glass. I would try a tar remover on the spots on the paint.
 
I'm gathering he pressure washed the bed and all the tenants of latex spread everywhere.Basically he made it worse? Need pics .
 
Tarminex, let it dwel. needl point on PW. It will be time consuming but if its fresh enough it will come off. I did one a month or so ago, should be som pics on my FB page.
 
Thank you for all of your suggestions and advice. I ended up using a speed clay and it took it all off. I tried the truck bed with apc 10:1 and a hard brush and didn't even put a dent in it. The owner said he is replacing all of the plastics so not to worry about it and just take care of the paint. I also applied McKees spray coating and it did great. The customer was really pleased.
