Where to start...
My name is Anthony 'Tony' Benke, I own/operate Anthony B's PRO Mobile Detailing...this forum and entire website in general has really opened my eyes to a lot of the higher end products/systems that are available, and the fact that the warehouse is only like 30 minutes from me, it makes next day ordering a breeze!
I look forward to reading some posts, as well as posting some reports on some projects I'll be doing.
For the longest time, I've been using the 3M Perfect-It system for my compounding/polish/glaze with a rotary buffer (Rubbing Compound though sometimes I'd go with Meg's UC, Gray Machine Polish, and Ultrafina Polish), and following up with the Klasse Sealant and then the 3M Show Car Paste Wax...looked good for what it did.
I just ordered the Porter Cable kit with 5 pads of my choice, as well as some more Klasse Sealant, some more Ultimate Compound, some Meg's Swirl X, Meg's 205 Ultra Finishing Polish, and the XMT 180 paste wax.
I know that's a BASIC setup, and I welcome any input/questions that anyone may have.
FYI, I'll be doing an extensive clear-reconditioning on October 17th...doing a 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK320 in dark clue...guy has used low quality wax twice a year on it, and never owned a garage or even a car cover...now he does and he wants the exterior taken care of. There's some fine scratches, but mostly it's dull/oxidized clear-coat (almost to the point of yellowing, but no delamination anywhere). Not too worried about it (I'm in the process of the leaving Mercedes-Benz of West Palm Beach as the Body Shop/Paint Department Foreman to do the mobile detailing full time) since I know the material that Mercedes uses like the back of my hand, and that 'scratch resistant' clear coat really isn't as tough as it sounds.
Wish me luck and I'll post my first full report with pictures once I'm done!
