Just saying Hi to everyone im new here as I have just started reading about detailing a couple weeks ago and have gone over TONS of threads in this forums. Ive gone to many other popular auto detail sites around but this one just seems to be the most complete, products wise, rep wise and forum/customer wise.
I just got a gift to help me get started with detailing. The guy that owned my car before was a detailer on the side so he took care of it with wax, sealers, used a PC, etc etc, but I cant say Ive done the same thing.
What I normally use (only washed car 3 times so far):
- Wash Shampoo - Simoniz - Wash and Wax with Carnauba Wax Cold Water Formula
- Wash Mitt - Simoniz - Simoniz Microfiber Premium Wash Mitt
- Wheels - Meguiars - Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner G9524 (then finished with Wash Shampoo above and regular sponge)
- Tires - Meguiars - Hot Shine Tire Spray Aerosol G12115
What I just recieved
- Turtle Wax Black Box T3KT
- Mothers California Gold Clay Bar System 07240
- Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner G7164
- Chemical Guys MicroFiber Rejuvenator Microfiber Cleaning Detergent Concentrate
I know its not top of the line stuff, but should ok for a first timer. After im done with the black box (which should be fast cause we have 3 black cars in the family), im gonna probably get a PC 7424XP or meguirs g110 (heard the Meguiars is better and cheaper than the original pc 7424, not sure how it compares to the xp though). Then ill get more high end stuff, menzerna, pinnacle, zaino, wolfgang, ultima, etc.
So im going to be doing all this by hand for now. Im just about to finalize my first ever order with autogeek and want to know what you guys think of this to compliment what I already recieved above.
AUTOGEEK ORDER:
- Wash Accessories - The Grit Guard Insert (2X)
- Wash Mitt - Black Wheel and White/Yellow ShMITT Combo
- Towels - Cobra - The Guzzler Combo Kit (supreme guzzler and regular guzzler)
- Towels - Cobra - Cobra Mango Breeze Microfiber Towels 3 Pack
- Interior - Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer Interior Wipes
- Glass - Stoner Invisible Glass Trio
Final Question, theres one thing I cant make my mind up about, should I get this Mega Applicator Combo Kit Mega Applicator Combo Kit . If I do indeed go with a rotary/pc machine once im done the black box then would the Mega Applicator Combo Kit be a waste?? Is it already too much for what im doing now? Can I get through a whole car with the 2 applicator pads that come with the black box? Would the 3 mango microfibers generally be enough to wipe away the excess material from the turtle box for 1 car?
Ive had this order ready to buy the last 2 or 3 days and havent put it through yet because I just cant figure out if I need the Mega Applicator Combo Kit or if its just overkill.
