Hi Everyone -
My name is Mike and I'm a detailaholic! I think that was suggested as a standard intro by someone in another thread
. I know I'm in the right place given that I share that particular addiction.
I am not a professional detailer, never have been, never will be but keeping my cars super clean is an obsession with me. Most of you can relate to that and understand what it is like. I am not in the same league as a lot of you when it comes to detailing especially when it comes to using machines (PC, Flex, GG, etc.) but you folks all seem happy to share the knowledge and for that I'm grateful. I look forward to 'kicking it up a notch' with your help!
Washing and "waxing" a car is like therapy to me and during the winter here in the mid-west reading the AG forum has helped me keep somewhat sane. Im the MAN
I have been lurking on this site for several months reading your threads/articles. I have already learned a great deal not only about techniques, products and processes but also about each of you, at least in the virtual sense.
One thing I observed during my lurking is that this site is extremely friendly, not so with most forums. I also want to say from an outsider's view point I find the fact that everyone wants to help others in anyway possible is probably the best thing about this forum. From the samples people pass around to the knowlege base to any number of things. :dblthumb2:
I finally decided it was time to join up as there have been a number of threads recently that I could relate to. One in particular was the thread on the '69 Chevelle SS. I owned one with the 396 engine so the thread held special interest for me. Mine was also the same color as that in the thread. It was the first car that I owned that I wanted to keep in pristine condition. For some reason or another I eventually sold it but the thread on this forum let me relive some of those good times.
Currently I own a 2007 Corvette convertible in Monterey Red Metallic (dark red with almost a maroon hue to it). I was looking for a good picture of it to share and come to find out that I really don't a decent one left as a result of a hard drive failure on my PC a few months ago. I've made that my first priority once the weather turns nice and will post pictures then. I own a couple of other more mundane vehicles and will post pictures of those at some point also.
Looking forward to enjoying the forum.
Mike
