Hid Haze inside headlights?

I noticed shortly after installing HID'S on my Ram that the inside of the lens started to haze. Fast forward two years and it's looking pretty bad. I keep the lens coated on the exterior with a coat of 845 and have never had any issues with hazing on the exterior. I even wet sanded and buffed the lens using the 3M kit when I first noticed the haze two years ago thinking it was on the exterior.

I'm going to take the headlights apart again (I opened and painted the shrouds a while back) and polish the inside of the lens.

My question is should I use something like M10 or the same 3M kit I used on the exterior?
 
Are you cleaning the inner part of the lens well? Any type of oils from your hands or anything else can heat up and mark your lens.
At least I remember hearing something along the lines of this a while back; I have never even opened up my own headlights.
 
Personally I'd try the m10 first. If that doesn't fix it then go on to the 3m kit

Is it a real xenon HID (like a ballasted retrofit kit)? If so, I think those should only be used in projectors. That is probably the problem. Have you thought of trying something like Silverstar's instead?

Yes

And not true. Xenon hid kits can run either way.

This isn't my first set; I've had them in my last three vehicles. None were in a projector. First time having this issue. The hazing is due to the dust caps being off in the back of the headlight.I bought new ones from the dealer already.

I had 55w hids in both headlights and fog lights in my 09 ram and it caused no problems to my housings.

The problem most likely happened as a result of a bad seal somewhere thus letting moisture in.

Any non abrasive plastic polished out there? M10 abrasive or not?
 
Heat gun to dry them or either sell the truck or replace them.

Looks like heat damage.

I have seen it in cars with retrofitted HID kits and the light gives off enough heat to damage the lens.

I've seen them melt it really bad and then cases where it gets hot and then the addition of water on the outside cools it quickly can causes a haze like that.

May be able to polish it out but I never bothered.

They can be used in either but I believe the reason projectors are used is so you don't blind every on coming vehicle. Reflector style lenses are designed for halogen output.

Looking closer I do think it's heat damage. HID lights do this a lot.

Look at the beam from the hids, if it lines up with the haze it's probably the hids heating the plastic up. Never had any problems with mine doing that though.

I too have the same problem in my 2012 Dodge a Ram with hid's. I took apart lights and scrubbed inside of lenses with rain-x anti fog sheets and they looked great for a week, then bam... Haze is back. Does any body have any ideas?
