Some idiot hit and ran my car... I had no idea of the incident until late at night I found my car hit.

I had hopes that a dent wizard guy could fix it so I did some wet sanding and hit it with FG400 and got out most of the scratches some deep ones still remain... and overall the panels are going to be to be painted due to the extent of the damages. Totally sux.

Got several quotes and all came in around the same. My insurance deductable is basically the same as I was quoted, so I'm going to just pay out of pocket.

Some idiot just cost me $950.00 cash...

Gotta love people....

sorry to hear about that, some people these days have no respect for other's property. karma will come upon who ever did this at some point and time...

My deductible is $1000.00 - which I set up on purpose if a situation like this ever came up.

For example: If my deductable was $500 bucks, I would still pay the $950 out of pocket so as to not screw the carfax report of my car, and also to keep my insurance rate the same.

Most likey you insurance premiums would not increase if you used the insurance since it is not your fault.

In this case, like you have mentioned, the repair and ded is about the same so no reason to go through insurance.

You can always ask the body shop to try to cut you a deal since you are paying cash out of pocket.

You might be able to remove some of the paint transfer and just have a PDR take a look at it. If not a body shop should be able to "maybe" pop out the dent.

I know because this happened to my Mom's red Prius. I removed the paint transfer and she took the car to my uncles shop and they popped out the dent from her front drivers side bumper. She came back that same day all happy.

Won't hurt to try IMO.

Well good luck...

I got a 5.5" Orange LC foam pad and some M105 and did it by hand btw.

It will depend on how deep the scuff's car btw, but a good majority looks like it should come out.

This would be a not at fault incident, so your rates wouldn`t increase. I bet your insurance is cheap with that deductible huh?

Its not so much my insrance rate going up... but the blemished CarFax report. As "minor" as this is, it will pull up an accident under this car should I ever try to sell/trade it in.

So it just makes sense to pay out of pocket.

oh sorry, I saw that you already corrected it. Whoops, was wondering what was wrong in the second picture lol. Well it came out looking good. Now just get the dents popped out and you should be good to go.

But then it's on your carfax.
Take it to a body shop and it might wind up on your Carfax report anyway. All depends on the repair shop. I previously owned a Honda Accord and the dealer passed service info for each oil change to Carfax.

That's enough to piss off the good humor man, to many scum bags driving with no insurance and or hopped up.

Sorry to hear that, it really sucks man. My drivers side door got dinged up while I was in the gym. Ended up replacing the whole door...

I feel your pain. I normally park a mile away from any cars. But I had a business meeting and it was raining so I parked closer. In the end spot of the row and moved over so there was even more room. And I get hit! PlasticX and fixed it up a bit but still a small dent. So I've had the car a year and I've been hit by two humans and a deer! The weird thing was the car had a small dent when I bought it that was fixed after the Bambi damage and the car got hit in almost the same spot again. I'm not getting it fixed until I buy another car for a DD and park my baby.

looks like you did a great job buffing it out!

this is why my garage queen get less than 2k miles a year.. idiotic, disrespectful, ignorant, inbred people

I feel your pain. On my previous car some nit wit managed to back into my rear passenger side wheel and quarter panel and then take off.

Carfax is utterly useless. There's millions of ways to avoid having it show on the Carfax. I'm surprise folks are still drinking the Carfax KoolAide.

I had 2 accidents on my last car and it never went to carfax.
