Homemade spray wax

I would like to make my own spray wax (maintenance/inbetween wax) with Klasse sealant or Collinite 845.

How should I go about doing this?

I've watched some YouTube videos on detailer sprays. Would the same procedure apply to spray wax?

Also, is ONR same as QD? I've read disruptions, and it sounds like a QD...

Thanks in advance

ONR can be diluted to be rinseless wash, and clay lube. In the past, the labels also had a dilution for a quick detailer. I forget the ratio, but some online searching can give you results.

I know not about the other things you mentioned.

As far as making your own spray wax goes, why not just get something like Duragloss 951 aquawax? It's an incredible product, and very cost-effective.

And as for ONR, yes. You can mix it up to a QD ratio. 2oz. to a gallon of water if I remember correctly.

Spray waxes like OCW and McKees Fast Wax are spray-on-wipe-off (light buffing). Something like Fuzion Spray Wax is spray-on-buff-off (moderate to heavy buffing). I'm not sure how much buffing Klasse or 845 is going to require but I suspect it may be a bunch. What is your objective? ONR+W is a good compromise because it wipes off easy like a QD without much, if any buffing at all. For me, ease-of-use is most important for maintenance.

Thanks for the replies.

My objective is to use up Klasse sealant and Collinite so I can move onto different products. And having my own spray wax would be nice as I don't want to spend money to buy products...

So would this result in a spray wax?:

ONR (or any other QD) + distiller water + Collinite 845 or Klasse sealant?

So how do I make this?
Is this something I can make at home?
If you are well-versed in the Chemistry of
compounds/solutions; have the: chemicals,
equipment, knowhow, $$$, little to no
aversion to risk, etc., I suppose you could
make this at home.

But why bother?
It’s already there for the taking!

Well I studied qed and cmp, so I have the knowledge and tools to make it happen. So what chemicals do I need?

Like I already mentioned, the reason I would like to make my own spray wax is to use up all the products I have. And furthermore I don't want to spend money on existing products.

OK...

•Get yourself a couple of those 4 oz.
spray bottles with misting spray-heads.

•Heat up the bottle of Collinite in a pan
of hot water, or out under the Sun.
-fill one of the 4 oz. bottles with the, now,
very thinned-out Collinite.
-put on a misting spray-head. Voila! A
sprayable Wax “made” from Collinite #845

•Vigorously shake the container of Klasse
HGSG for a minute or so.
-fill a 4oz. bottle with the well shaken Klasse HGSG
-put on a misting spray-head. Voila! A sprayable
Sealant “made” from Klasse HGSG.

Rinse and Repeat, as needed, for additional
sprayable Wax/Sealant supplies.

How is this different from applying these products with mf pads? So is this how all other spray waxes are made - even the Sonus spray sealant you mentioned?

This is not what I meant by spray waxes.

I would like to make "inbetween" waxes like Meguire's Ultimate Quik Wax.

And I remember reading that detail enthusiasts make homemade spray waxes using full-on waxes and sealants like Collinite and Klasse.

If you are knowledgable with overall composition and procedures, can I ask you to share your knowledge?

How is this different from applying these
products with mf pads?

Rather than having a thicker globule of
product to work with...instead you can
now apply a fine mist of the product.
I.E.: it’s sprayable.

So is this how all other spray waxes are made -
even the Sonus spray sealant you mentioned?
I gave you really easy ways to use up
the remainder of the Collinite and Klasse
products—without breaking the bank.

It’s your choice to proceed with those
suggested methods, or not.

I appreciate your input. But that would still require buffing off these products, which requires elbow grease. What I had in mind was something like Meg's Ultimate Quik Wax, which is easy on-and-off.

Could we discuss exactly what Klasse sealant is composed of? You sounded very knowledgable with chem and mse. "Acrylic formula" written on product description isn't saying much, so I don't have anything at all to work with.

Again I appreciate your input, but I might as well have fun with experimenting with these products by coming up with one-of-a-kind product.

Could members here, who are pro detailers or enthusiasts, share how you made your own spray waxes? I would really appreciate it

I don't think most people make their own spray waxes, that's why you're not getting many detailed answers. If I was going to try it, I would simply try Bob's method and see if it sprays nicely. If it doesn't, cut it with water until it does. Maybe throw in a little isopropyl alcohol as well. If it never sprays nicely, then there's your answer. Use a 4 oz bottle so you don't waste much product if it doesn't work.

Collinite isn't going to hold in solution. I'd probably forget about turning that one into a spray wax. Most people mixing their own spray waxes and detailers are usually using the last couple ounces in their various bottles (to use up product like you suggest) and mixing products of like consistency to begin with.

Ie. Take the last ounce in six different bottles of spray wax and detail spray and create a "frankendetailer". Mostly for fun. Some like to mix waterless wash formulas (ex. Duragloss fast clean and shine) with some spray wax (ex. Duragloss Aquawax) to create a super-charged detail spray. That sort of thing.
