does anyone have experience of adding a small plug in type of water heater to the garden hose by the garage area, looking to get something around 6 gal just so to have some warm water if needed, is it pretty much plug and play ? cold water in, hot water goes out, and the hot side goes to garden hose and plug it into the outlet?

something like the links below

6 Gal. 6 Year 2000W 120V Electric Point-of-Use Water Heater-GE06P06SAG at The Home Depot

4 Gal. 6-Year 1500 kw 120 Volts Point-of-Use Mini Electric Water Heater-GL4.0 at The Home Depot

someone mentioned about the "mylee inline hot water, does that one work better in my application "

It sounds as if your idea will work but depending on usage the recovery could be slow....

yea, totally understand that's why i'm aimming for a 6 to 10 gal one, even if i use my pressure washer, it's about 1.8 gpm still get about 3-4 min of blast, if i used it for washing, it would be enough for foam canon, and hose down... needless to say, i'd be well covered for just an engine bay job.

i wonder if anyone here had done it.

Make sure you research your pressure washer's ability to handle hot water first.

All the washers that I have owned specifically say do not hook up to hot water.

Don't know if it's because the seals will fail, or the housing is made of plastic, or who knows why.

Just check first.

Unless your pressure washer is built for hot water you can not run hot water through it. If it is gas, the cold water is used to cool the engine pump, usually the same with and electric. If you use hot water your pump or engine will fail.
