How can I get those little lug nut covers darker? (pic) (solutions finish)

Here is a quick before/after of what I was trying to accomplish.

What I am trying to accomplish is to get those little lugnut covers a few shades darker. Possibly closer to the shade/shine of the tire.

What I used:

-ARO for tire
-Sonax for wheel
-Flitz polish on wheel
-2 Coats Solutions Finish on covers (~45 minutes apart)
-1 coat UTTG on covers
-2 coats PERL on tire.

Is there anything else I could try or am I forced to just paint them if I want them any darker?

In my experience with solutions finish it wont last long anyways (2-3 mos?) So if its gonna bother you, you might as well paint them now.
