Hello,

The plastic trim in my dads xts has some light surface scratches. Is there anything I can use to remove the scratches?

Thanks

Sorry for the post, I found the links on how to fix them!

Do you have any pictures of it? I'm interested in seeing what part of the car this is on.

I hope this comes through. I just tried ultimate polish and it didn't make a change.

So you're talking about the fine scratches in the woodgrain trim?

If it's the wood or the shiny black, I'm really surprised the Ultimate Polish didn't help if they are light. How did you apply/work?

sorry but that is the best I could do for a picture. The fake would trim has the fine scratches. I used the ultimate polish with the lake county white pad. I used the hand held pad. I also have the 5 1/2 inch orange pad that I may try. I also have plastic x that I will try later.

The fake would trim

What do you mean fake wood? They chop down forrests year round in Michigan to build our Cadillacs. Lol. J/k

According to the Cadillac sales brochure, this is some of that fine Zebrano wood.

Hopefully the orange pad will do the trick. I read somewhere that someone fixed theirs with Wolfgang total swirl remover and got it out with an orange pad. Never used the total swirl remover, not sure what it's "cut level" is. I'd imagine pretty close to ultimate polish. Not sure I would hit it with anything much more aggressive than a swirl remover and cutting foam. If it is anything like the wood trim in my vehicles wool & microfiber would swirl the crap out of it. Mine scratches if I knick it with the edge of a MF towel.
