What is the best way. It seems not really convenient rubbing on. Is there a better way or is there a particular applicator that works really well?

I use the Cobra Flex Foam applicator. They are expensive but I like them. After I run out of the few I have left I think I might try to find a more cost effective product to use to apply.

I haven't tried the spray gun method but that is supposed to be the most cost effective. I personally have tried foam applicator and micro fiber applicator, the latter being my favorite method. The micro fiber pads apply and pick up excess all at the same time, especially when making several passes in the same section. You do in fact use more product by rubbing it on the surface.

Foam tire applicator works for me just fine.

My preference is a Carrand brand tire applicator for more tire dressings. I keep it in a baggie for reuse and last for a number of applications before the foam tears.

There are some stiffer foam tire applicators around but do not like them as much.

I bought the spray gun and love it. By far the best way to apply (IMO). It gets the product into all of the grooves and gives an amazing even coverage.

I just bought another spray gun to apply Megs Hyper Dressing to the wheel wells with.

That's a great idea! Right now I use aerosol dressings but it's not always easy to do with a big can bouncing off everything.

It really reduces the amount of product used compared to a trigger sprayer and gets the product back into the areas that are harder to access. If you have a decent compressor, these are great tools for your detailing arsenal.

Eagle One Tire Swipe

Eventually I'd like to try the OptiBond spray gun though
Eagle One was my go to tire dressing applicator until they changed the foam. Seems like it just doesn't last like the old ones.

I had actually bought a pressure sprayer to use with Opti-bond but it ended up getting clogged up even when diluting to 1:1. I've ended up using Opti-bond full strength instead but I apply it with a paintbrush. Cheapest tool I've used to date. Just pick up one at the dollar store! :D

The OptiBond gun we sell won't clog like a paint sprayer. Spraying is for sure the best tire dressing method IMO. Even if you wipe over it to know down some of the shine, the sprayer gets into all the grooves and uses much less product. If you don't have an air compressor, the Wagner control spray works pretty good. It's a HVLP with the blower built into the gun so that all you need is power supply.

Oh? I haven't bought any in a while; I stocked up when they were on sale at one of the local parts stores.

100% true. Never had a clog, ever. Just connect the air and spray away. This gun will last you forever.
