I have searched, and everything I find is in the DA pads. Some reviews just say rinse it or dip it in a bucket, but there has to be to it than that, right?
Thank you,
Connor

That is all i do, dip in my bucket of rinseless wash, hang up to dry.

I like to dip it inside the bucket and wipe it down with a microfiber towel or a wash mitt. I guess it's better than just dip in and pull out.

I just spray it with a QD solution and give it a few squeezes. Maybe a few more squirts, sling it a bit and let it dry. That solution might be ONR, ONRWW, or it could be D114. :) For that matter... it might even be a dip in a shampoo solution and a rinse with clear water, (followed by the aforementioned 'hang to dry'). :D

I will run some water through it, and then lightly wipe the clay side along a plush microfiber. Mine are yellow, so I can usually see how much junk the microfiber pulls off. Then I just set it on a rack to dry

This is what I do too. In fact, I use the same procedure while using it on the vehicle. I'll wipe it down after every panel, maybe more depending on the vehicle's condition.

Is it supposed to be kept dry ? I wash it really good, spray with the spray lubricant , and fold it, and put in ziplock back, so it's stays wet. I think that's what I read somewhere , not sure about it , that's why I am asking if is it right to keep it wet?

Not sure you want to fold a sponge, you might be referring to the cloth version of Nanoskin.

I suggest that clay towels should not be folded

My Speedy Prep Towel stuck to itself and it took some delicate maneuvering and patience to get it un-stuck

I suggest rolling the towel up, so that the polymer side is against the fabric side. Then I wrap a sheet of wax paper around it and put it in a zip-loc

Sorry for misunderstanding , I was talking about the towel :)

Thank you for advice. Will do it that way. But what about the condition of the towel? Dry it or can keep it wet in ziplock back.
I didn't have any issues to unfold and it didn't stick as it was wet.
I will roll it from now on.
After doing the car, I used in bathtub for glass and tile, and bathtub itself, it came so clean as brand new :)
Also used a DP high performance glass restorer for bathroom vanity cultured marble, not sure what it means, but it's white like marble , and those hard water spots came right off, also looks like brand new:)

Here's what I used.... lots of picture in my article above too....

Blackfire Clay Cleaner and Extender

Awesome tip! Thanks Mike! Follow up question - does the rubber need to be treated prior to storage? Will it eventually dry out if not maintained with some thing like BF Clay Cleaner and Extender? Or doesn't it matter?

Thank you for great advice. What about towels, I wash them with regular water , they are clean , spray with the same lubricant. Just still not sure if better keep them dry or wet?

So Mike, the same applies to the Nanoskin sponges? Not just the DA pads?

Here's the deal...

If you look closely at the picture of the Nanoskin pad I shared, you can see one half has a yellow residue and the other half is clean. The yellow residue is yellow overspray paint. It's from this project where the ENTIRE truck was covered in overspray paint. We used Nanoskin product to remove the overspray paint.

I used the Blackfire Clay Cleaner and Extender and various brushes to clean the overspray paint off of everything we used that night but only took pictures of the pads as that was the focus at that time. The same product will work to clean the towels and the wash mitts.

I don't know about the sponges. I've only used the sponges once or twice and found I much more prefer the other three products for this type of work. (pads, mitts and towels).

You can try any soap that's safe enough for clay or even your hands and it should at a minimum help to break the bond of any dirt or residues built up on the surface of the Nanoskin products.

By the way, here's the before and after from this truck project... lots of pictures and lots of tips and techniques shared in this write-up.

Find a way to gently clean your Nanoskin product even washing them with hand soap is very safe and effective. I just found the Blackfire Clay Cleaner and Extender did a great job of removing the overspray paint as it was somewhat embedded or impacted onto the polymerized rubber surface.

Thank you for great advice. What about towels, I wash them with regular water , they are clean , spray with the same lubricant. Just still not sure if better keep them dry or wet?

After we use any Nanoskin product here I toss them in a bucket with some DP Rinseless wash and let them soak till the next day and then rinse them out, wring them out and place them flat on tables in the studio to dry.

Seems to be working for the last 3+ years.

:)
