how long before i can wax after new paint/clearcoat application

I'm having the bed of my "other vehicle" painted, wholly because I found out very quickly that I CAN NOT wetsand. I ruined the bed of my truck, on both sides.
So, my 08 Ram 1500 SLT 4X4 will be getting a new coat of paint (Patriot Blue, Metallic) and several coats of clearcoat next Tuesday. (I'm paying extra for 3 extra coats of clear).

so, my question after my prattling:

How long do I have to let the paint/clear "cure" before I can work it?
glaze, sealant, wax and the like?

I know I've read on here that there is a minimum wait time. I want to say one month, but i'm asking for clarification.

The last paint work I had done the place told me o one month, I waited 3 before I put any waxes or sealants on. Just washing for a whole 3 months. Of course they also told me paint doesn't need wax anymore :) yeah, but no

Thirty days should be plenty of time to out gas if baked in an oven. Otherwise I would give it 60 days What kind of Tuna do you kill?

my preference is YFT, or yellow fin tuna for non fisherman.
currently, Bluefin is on my list since in now reside on the east coast.

i'll upload a few for ya.

I'm in the navy, spent 14 years in Hawaii, where I killed many, many tuna (ahi) and tons of Wahoo (ono) and plenty kine Giant Trevally (Ulua). I've fished the world over and am currently trying to get my car detailing supplies to equal my fishing gear.... may be another divorce in the mix! (haha, not really, but).....

oh! the truck will be baked, so a month will work, so i'll wait six weeks. thanks!

Thanks, that sea bass looks to be around 80 lbs.

This is not a fishing forum, but since this is your thread, I would give anything to catch a big Bluefin. Love that show, Wicked Tuna.

Blue and blackfin up to 25%fat content,yellowfin...5-10% fat content all depending on the fish`s diet and water temperature.We catch more blues, blacks, skipjacks and of coarse the dreaded bonito(although delicious under 12 in.) in S.FL. Has anyone eaten a beating heart from a freshly caught tuna?

Mike to the rescue! I can't add to this :) Best thing for you is have a good conversation with your paint shop. They will tell you their process, their products and their recommendations. Don't forget that if something go wrong with the clear, and you come back to the bodyshop with your internet based recommendations (on time and products), they may not warrant their work, regardless if the information is spot on

Never heard of black fin tuna..is that Albacore Tuna or Skip Jack Tuna?

It`s not available commercially as it`s illegal to sell.It`s darker than Albacore and lighter than Skipjack.It`s found from Cape Cod through Florida and probably south of us.They dont exceed the 60 pound range and most are 6-10 pounds caught off the Atlantic.Considered by many to be the best eating Tuna.I`ve caught several "Footballs"as we call them because of the size.Now thats Sashimi at it`s best.Bluefins are what we ship to Japan and the highest recent price was something like 1.5 mill.US dollars for an 800# fish.Now that equates to how much per slice...A LOT.
