Before someone gets upset, I am doing this only once--I need to prep the paint for PPF or ceramic coating. Will do an IPA rubdown after the wash. None of my car shampoos are strippers :-/ Just curious how much dish soap to use for a pressure washer foam cannon. Thanks.

I can't give a dilution rate for dish soap, but if you have some APC, then that is a better option to add to your normal pH neutral soap than using a dish soap that will leave a residue behind. Dish soap does not strip wax by the way, rather it covers it up.

Yeah man. I use dedicated products and not stuff from my pantry. Not really knocking the stuff but just have read negatives about using IPA is that “might” affect paint. Read a lot about dish soap not stripping LSP but masking it.

The only real negative I’ve read about dedicated products is the “might” be overpriced.

For what an acidic or alkaline soap and a bottle paint prep cost I would rather just buy dedicated products.

And me personally, if I were adding a true high solids or ppf I would polish the paint as chemical decon may not remove everything.

Ok, you guys talked me into getting dedicated product. Thanks!

even if a lot of correction is not needed, even a light polish with a soft hitter will do a great job of making sure you put that LSP on clearcoat and clearcoat only, I like CAC's thinking
