How much polish / sealant per car ?

Hi guys, I'm new to auto detailing but I always washed my parents cars since I can remember something. =]
Now I'm taking care of mine and already bought a lot of stuff over autogeek and some other websites..
Well, I choose to begin with:
GG 6" ROP
LC 3.5" / 5" hook 'n loop
LC Hydro Kompressor pads 6"
LC 4" hydro pads
m105 / m205
UC / UP
scratchX2.0 / m86
Klass Sealant
What do you guys think of this selection ?

Shipping is very expensive to this kind of stuff to Brazil and as I plan to work on some friends cars, I was wondering how much polish I would normally need to use on a car sized like VW Golf, for example ?
I mean: 10oz from UC + 10 oz from UP + 5oz of sealant for a car like that ?
I'm trying to figure if I bought enough polish to do a couple of cars.

Usually I use approx 1 to 2 oz per car depending on the size and how many times I need to go over it. I use more polish than wax. With wax thin is key and I apply it by machine. Usually out of a 16oz bottle I can get any where from 8 to 12 vehicles. It various greatly but its a starting point.

I recently did my Mitsubishi Endeavor (SUV), and I used about 1 may be 2 fl oz of polish and not even half of that for the sealant /wax...a little goes a long way

That's great to know... I was thinking it was needed much more product to do a car....
Well.. I have to consider I'm a newbie to this so I might end up using more product per car in the beginning.

So you guys think it's safe to assume a Meg's Ultimate Compounds / Polish combo will do 5 cars fine ? it's a 16oz bottle.
I bought so much polish over autogeek that it might past valid date even before I can completely use it..... LoL....

Ya you should be able to do more than 5 with a 16oz bottle. A tip is to transfer the uc into a smaller clear travel bottle that is like 6oz. That way you can see how much you are using per car. When people start detailing and can't see how much product is in the bottle, they tend to use too much. It is a way to gauge your useage and figure out how much you are using/need per car. hope that made sense...

This is a pretty good idea... I tend to exaggerate in almost everything and this will help me for sure on getting usage in check.... thank you for the tip! :xyxthumbs:
