I filled up gas about a week ago. Most likely, the attendant didn't close the cap properly and the gas leaked. I started smelling gas yesterday, but could not figure out. Tightened the cap and I thought it is fixed.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed the gas spilled out and the stain.

I wiped the area with soap and tried cleaning with Klasse AIO (which is suggested in earlier posts) but was unsuccessful.

Any ideas on how I can clean the stain.

Before I tried cleaning with Klasse AIO

After Klasse AIO

Thanks in advance.

"The attendant"...sounds like a Jersey problem. KAIO isn't very aggressive, but on the other hand, if that's penetrated into the clear, there may not be a lot you can do about it. You used the KAIO by hand? Do you have a machine? What other polishes do you have?

I wonder if clay bar might be a little more effective than Klasse AIO, which is really a chemical cleaner and not abrasive from what I remember.

If clay doesn't work, I'd go where the above suggestion is headed and try to polish it out.

You can try another AIO and see what it does... But I'd probably go to a straight polish since you already tried Klasse. That's really all you can do.

If the polish doesn't remove the stain, then you're pretty much SOL. Gasoline can permeate the finish and permanently or semi-permanently stain it. If that is the case, just clean and polish as best you can, and then give it some time. I've seen stains like that improve over time... Weeks or months, not hours or days.

Yes, I used KAIO by hand. I don't have machine or any other polishes. Thats above my skill level. I might as well just find a detailer to work on it.

Get some Meguiars Ultimate Compound & microfiber applicator.
