I have been waiting to try Permanon Platinum for a while but was not sure how to go about doing it. Since there was a lack of information about applying Permanon Platinum I decided I would take advantage of it. When using this product it needs to be diluted so it a cost effective product. If it is used properly you should be able to do about two cars with a 32oz bottle and 40 cars all together. This product is going to protect your car and make washing it easier since it will not let the dirt and other contaminates bond to the surface. Permanon Platinum will also provide UV protection.

Step I
The first thing I learned was that it could be applied over a coating but not a wax. Since I had applied Wolfgang Fuzion about two months ago I had to strip my car of any wax. So in order to strip off the wax I decided to use Road kill bug remover with pinnacle all purpose cleaner. The first thing I did was go over the entire car using the Two Bucket Method filled with Detailer’s Road Kill Bug Remover and Detailer’s Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo.

Step II
After the car was completely clean you need to go over it again with Pinnacle All Purpose Cleaner to make sure you completely strip the wax. The picture below is how the water should sit on the panel once the wax is removed.

Step III
After making sure you striped the entire car of wax it is time to apply the Permanon Platinum Finish Protection. The fist step is to measure out 50ml of Permanon Platinum Finish Protection which is easy to do since it includes a measuring cup. Once you have 50ml you are going to put it in a 32oz spray bottle and fill it with water.

Step IV
Once you have mixed the 50ml Permanon Platinum mixed with water you are going to spray it onto the panel. When spraying the panel make sure you have complete and even coverage.

Step V

Once the panel is completely covered you are going to rinse it thoroughly to make sure you wash it all off. After rinsing the panel off it is time to dry the panel using a high quality Microfiber Towel or Metropolitan Dryer.

Overall Thought

If you are looking to protect your car in a short amount of time then this is the product to use. As far as application goes it was effortless and really nothing special to it. I was amazed by the end results and the mirror finish it provided. After coming home from school Friday night the bugs and dirt that were on the front bumper washed off without having to scrub them.

So Bryan I take it the is very similar to CarPro's HydrO2 in that is a spray sealant that needs to be rinsed off?

What is the working time? I have seen with the Hydro2 that if you do not rinse it right away you are left with a spoting look.

Do you hav an idea of how long the projected protection is?

Finally, Nice Job!

Nicely done.

I suggest drying the vehicle before you apply Permanon Platinum. Having water on the surface simply further dilutes the solution.

I wash and dry, then mist on Permanon Platinum using a Kwazar spray bottle that makes the perfect mist to get the best coverage. I then move the product that is on the surface around with my bare hand to make sure all of the Permanon available contacts the surface. I then blow dry everything off using my MasterBlaster. No reason to introduce more water and drying than needed.

You should check out my video application guide.

This product is so darn easy to use and apply. I have found no spotting afterwards and no hard rubbing to dry.

My understanding from Permanon is that water left on the surface after a wash does not dilute Permanon, but only acts as a carrier.

That may be true. But in my discussion With the Permanon US distributer I was told that you should use Distilled water because the Permanon will bond to what ever it contacts. So to me that tells me that excess water even though a carrier could be an issue.

Also does the greater the amount of the carrier = the more diluted?

As others have stated this product goes on the same as Hydro2. I used Hydro2 this spring on a 28 foot 5th wheel and found the same results as you did with the Permanon. It boosted the shine and was easy to apply. One thing I did different was to rinse off with a pressure washer instead of just a hose as Hydro2 needs the "shocking" to adhere the best.

I have had no issues all summer and the Hydro2 is still beading on the trailer. Hope Permanon lasts the same as there have been a few posts on it saying it does not. It was a toss up between Hydro2 and Permanon but may give Permanon a chance the next time around.

Thanks for the review :)

I applied this to my wife's Subaru this past weekend. The application was incredibly easy.

I had to strip the Collinite that was on her car. I did this with a Dawn/Meguiars APC mixture and used 17.5% IPA and some Eraser Pro (on the hood since I polished it with FG400).

The car was completely dry and then I mixed it up 50ml/22 oz (little bit higher than the 5% concentration).

The gloss -- even on a silver car -- was great, and it repelled water very well with minimal beading. I also applied it to the wheels and got similar results -- more beading, however. Must not have cleaned the wheels as well...

Now: The Test of Time.
