I met with a guy yesterday who has a LOT of semis he needs interior detailing done as well as washed and either waxed, or a full compound/polish/wax, depending on how the prices work out. Have any of you ever handled anything that size? Where were your prices landing? I've got some numbers in mind, but looking for some input!

Are you sure you want to take them all on? Do you have the equipment to work on something that tall?

How to charge? A lot! Worked on one, just the interior. It is kind of easy getting around inside because of the size, it had a sleeper, but it is a huge job. I went thru 64 oz of APC and a bottle of 1Z deep plastic cleaner. Not to mention the amount of MF. Make sure you have some type of drop light, not much light at all in the sleeper. Have the owner take the bedding and mattress out. It was an all day event, but he paid for it

I have a set rate for RV's and Boats I charge by the foot. I handle semi trucks the same way. Day cabs are $100 for interiors, sleepers I measure and calculate out. Tractor exteriors I measure out and add $50 to for the rear axles / frame cleaning. Also do NOT!! degrease the trailer plate!! Use caution on the cabs as well - most are all fiberglass and you can not step on at all.

Mike, what is your rate per foot? I was thinking of a round figure of $350 for a light interior cleaning plus the wash and wax. It sounds like I might be a little low on that number though. Keep the input coming guys, I REALLY appreciate it!

Welp, this was some interesting work! 3 Semi Trucks later, I'm pretty impressed with the way they turned out, and definitely made some solid money in the process. The owner seemed very happy with the results, but it kinda looked like he was taking notes on everything I was doing; probably hoping to just pay his own guys to try it themselves next time. We'll see how that works out, lol. After watching them "polish" their chrome, wheels, etc., I have a feeling I might hear from him again.

Any correction or just AIO on the paint ?
Which LSP did you settle on?
Just curious :-)

Good info. I am wondering how to quote semis and motor homes. It is expected to clean the interior of a semi, but I also wonder about the house cleaning side of a motor home.

Thanks, it just seems like it is a expectation as, after all, it is a big car(sort of lol)

Are people quoting RVs by the foot or what? I am going to try to go after some semi and RV business.
