Hello I am writing this because someone wants me to wet sand and polish a car that was repainted he does not like the amount of orange peel that the car has on it. I have experience in auto body shops,I know how to wet sand and polish but usually I get paid hourly by the shop. I would like to know how much would you charge for orange peel removal? It is a black wrx and the whole left side was repainted.I know there are methods of denim pads, and 3m trizact.I really need to know should I charge per each panel or hourly?

By the hour plus materials. It's quite labor intense and the risk of a fatal mistake is great. This is not a job to take on the cheap.

If your not making money pass on the job.

It's for sure something you don't specifically flat rate calling it I'll wet sand any car for X dollars. I charge hourly for these things but present it as just the finished cost, estimating my hours I will have into the project. Most people don't want to hear $50 an hour and I'll let you know how many hours it took when I'm done.

70 and hr x 8 will be a good price point. If it's a eye soar to them they will pay it ,if not forget it to much work and materials.
