Yesterday I did a clients car BMW X3. Both sides of the cars A Pillars were heavily faded. They were made out of like a synthetic rubber material not the typical fiber glass a pillars

How do I clean them?

has anyone seen this before?

I will post a picture later today!

But they look like this

It doesn't look faded in this picture but it is

The pillars are made of rubber !?

If you're talking about the far right in the picture, that is a B pillar. The A pillar would be next to the windshield. Your B pillar looks to have some carbon fiber-like decal on it. It may have been placed on there to cover a faded pillar. I'd have to see it in person

B pillar.

Also it seems they have carbon fiber vinyl or similar on them as posted above.

looks like a vinyl wrap to me as well. They are probably beyond repair and rewrapping would be the cheapest alternative. I've had good luck on vinyl stripes with a very fine abrasive (menzerna sf4500) or an all-in-one like Klasse or werkstatt using a polishing or finish pad. As always, inform the owner that it may not come out and replacement may be the only option, then with approval, do a test spot.

If they are carbon fiber inserts, some cheaper ones will oxidize or yellow over time due to the cheaper materials used, a similar approach to above can work sometimes.
