How to clean dirty speaker covers?

I did a car today and everything came out pretty good .. except the speaker covers. They were pretty much embarrassing. These are the covers with all the little holes in them. I tried the steamer with a brush attachment, cleaner with a detail brush, vacuum ... nothing worked very good at all.

Honestly I am a bit surprised they didnt say anything about them. I have looked and some google searches but not finding anything except one video where a guy sprays a cleaner and sucks it out with a tube. Well I dont have a small thin tube to suck it out with and I figure there would be a good way to scrub them? There has to be a good way to get them really clean.

Apc sprayed into a toothbrush and "dab" the brush into the dot holes of the grills.

i have used q-tips, pipe cleaners, and i once used thin pieces of papertowel around a wood skewer. The last one probably wasn't the best idea but it worked! I used them with APC depending how bad it was.
