Purchased a Black 2014 Acura MDX in 2017. Been a long time coming but finally decided to approach the front bumper that had a lot of bug damage etched into plastic. I wish I had taken a picture of the before but did not and will not forget to take before pictures in the future.

I have just finished wet sanding front bumper of car followed up with 105/205 combo and a couple of coats of Collinite 845 over CanCoat. Now I have a few microfiber towels to wash.

How does everyone wash a handful of towels that is not a full load to wash? Will it hurt to leave compound, polish, or wax in the towel for several days? Do I soak them for the several days in my 3D towel kleen until I detail the car on the weekend and have a full load?

Set washer on small load and wash them on hot. Presoak them if they’re really dirty or have lots of product on them.

I currently use washer in small load. But if I had only 3 or 4 would you soak them for several days in a little of the 3D or just wait until you have a full “small load” to wash?

For me, depends on what’s on them. If it’s coating then I’ll wash quickly. If it’s a tough sealant or wax, might soak. Otherwise, they sit in the basket until I feel I have enough to wash.

If it’s only three towels or so, I’d just let them soak in a bucket w/ some tide, then wash them when I had a normal small load. I really don’t overthink this.

I’ve been letting them sit as well and figured I’d ask. I do like the idea of the let ring them soak in some detergent.

Gets some snappy clean. Works well to soak and get polish, waxes and sealants out of pads.

Even towels i’ve used for coatings come out good.

Soaking in detergent may not be strong enough

Same here. I use 3D Microfiber Cleaner and the sanitary cycle on my washer.

Don’t sleep on 3D Towel Kleen.

I use it to soak my used pads while polishing, and they come out of the soak looking new. :)

Back to the original question... "How to clean microfiber towels when not a full load?"

Many times if I have only a few towels and I want to clean them before waiting for a full laundry load, I'll just wash them by hand in the sink, or in a bucket, with whatever detergent I would normally use if doing them in the washing machine.

I'm always washing glass towels by hand in my utility sink because they have to be separate from my load of other MFs which is larger.
