How to clean & protect embroidery and stitching

I'm planning on detailing the inside of my Focus ST in the near future and I'm trying to figure how how to best clean the embroidery and stitching on my recaro seats. They seem fairly clean, no real noticeable discoloration in the white stitches. I thought a fabric protector like CG Fabric Guard would do the trick but im not sure on how to apply it other than spraying it which will also get it on my leather seats. Maybe a paint brush and dab it on? They are incredible seats, I do not want to hurt them. Should I avoid cleaning them if it doesn't look nessicary to avoid possible dye running?

I would spray a weak dilution of APC/Fabric Con a cloth and twist lightly over the embroidery. For the stitching go to a painters or hardware store and get some cheap foam brushes. Apply same cleaner to the foam and wipe the edge over the stitching, then run a towel over it to take off any possible excess. To protect use a fabric protector with the same tools and process.
 
If it was me I would use a little bit of folex on a towel and lightly wipe over the embroidery in one direction as for the stitching i would use a make up brush or boars hair brush and lightly brush the stitching with folex then to protect i would use something like chemical guys fabric guard or some sort of fabric protectant, and to maintain the cleanest just wipe both embroidery and sticking down with a little water on a towel every week or two
 
You should clean it lightly with either a light APC or dedicated upholstery cleaner, dab it on with a MF towel. Be careful. Once you do that I would get some type of fabric protector. GTechniq comes to mind. You could apply it by dabbing as well. The key is to not pull the stitching or embroidery.

I'd slather those seats with CarPro Fabric and Leather.

Just what your trying to protect - fabric and leather...right?

Long term, it looks difficult to maintain

I've been using chemical guys leather cleaner and a soft brush to clean the leather and ive had good results. Im going to be trying Gteqniq Leather Guard as a protectant. I just wasn't sure how to treat the fabric. Ive never had leather seats that have decorative stitching in them.

I like Surf city garage leather care and the Lexol 3n1 isnt too bad either. remember to lightly mist your cloth with water first. your stiching looks clean, why not just treat it with what the others have said or put some scotch guard in a cup and db it on like you said with a fine paint brush?
 
I've had the car a year, I think the stitching has kept itself pretty clean. I wonder if its been treated by something at the factory.
