There is a metal ring around the gauge. Between the glass and the ring is a recess (maybe 1 cm wide), it is a very matte material like flocking. How do you clean dust out of that? Things I've tried, brushing with ox hair did nothing. Have just left it so far(for 7 years:bat:) cause don't want to damage gauge plastic. Was thinking to try blowing with air bulb next. Mercedes M class

Thanks

I saw Scott from Dallas in YouTube used the keyboard cleaner where the dust sticks to it. Haven't tried that myself. Yeah those plastic covers are a pain and gets easily scratched.

Are you referring to the semi-sticky, ooze-like substance that can be pushed into crevices and then pulled back out of the crevice?

I have some of that stuff. Cyber Cleaner I think it was called. Got it at BJ's a few years ago

You can actually make that stuff with Elmer’s glue, borax & water. Make some and try it out.

Thanks for the help. The stoner ez gust worked perfectly or near perfectly. I'm not sure if the colour is to original, the stoner did nothing to the colour. It is 100 percent clean though, and looks good.
An amazing amount of dust came out of there. The interior that was spotless got covered in dust

I know I can’t be the only 1, so I’m just going to ask for everyone who’s wondering... What in the world spot of the vehicle are you talking about? Lol. It’s bugging me now. Pics please? Or at least a more detailed description because I honestly don’t know what part you’re talking about.

I will try and get pics. The gauges have a ring around them that sticks out from the clear plastic "glass" about 1.5 cm. The tip is aluminium look material. Between the tip and "glass" is a recess of some very matte material. Oh and I'm talking speedo and tach.

Oh ok, I think I know what you mean now, although I can’t exactly remember the fine details of how they are in a Benz.

You meantioned hog hair brush, what about these? You haven’t had any luck using this brush? This brush pretty much always works for those little nooks you’re describing.

Spray into brush, brush surface, quickly vacuum up or wipe clean with a microfiber.

The black ring in front of glass.

I tried a brush like that only chisel point. Dry though. When dusty it looked like it may have been flocking, so I didn't want to wet it. Now that its clean, its plastic.

Damp brush would have worked, but the air is the preferred method I think
