I'm just getting into paint correction, and was wondering how to reach areas that I can't get my DA into. How do I get product there to remove swirls without using a machine?

You may have to be more specific on what areas you are talking about.

I have a 2 7/8 backing plate on my cordless drill for some smaller spots and I use my fingers in a MF towel for the even smaller ones.

Sorry about that. I was referring to areas like underneath pedestal spoilers, behind door handles, around antennas, mirrors, etc.

If you do it by hand, how do you get enough friction with the product to remove the swirls and fine scratches?

i do a lot of that by hand. i use a slightly more agressive compound when applying by hand vs machine. it does take time, but it's the only i way know besides removing trim and panels to get around them.

Gotcha. I'm definitely going to buy a smaller backing plate to reach as much as I can, but whatever I can't get to, I'll just do by hand. Thanks!

I have a PC 7424 XP with the 5/8 extension and the correct adapters for correcting. I have set it up to handle 1" to 5" Pads. With 3 extension connected to the adapter; you can correct under the door mirrors. As for under the door handles I do not bother as they will get scratched up quickly.

All the other hard to reach areas are easily reachable with the set-up I made. Everyone here can do the same with a DA that is similar to the PC.

Awesome! Thank you. I see you have a 2013 track pack GT. I have a 2011 GT/CS. Under the CS spoiler is where it's going to be really tough to get to.

Some people go as far as taking the spoilers off and reapplying after. Not recommended unless you can replace the factory seal if it is damaged.
