So far stioll have not matered how to prevent tire sling off. I currently have dp's gel and aa tire foam. I usually wash the very early in the morning and apply the tire dressing. Ive been using the aa foam alot more lately. Anyway I apply one coat, let it sit for at least 4 hours sometimes even more. Then if I have to go somewhere, I always wipe the tire off with a clean microfiber towel. But when I return back I always have the sling off that I have to use crystal mist to get off. It seems I have to do this at least once and then I am good. I would like to avoid this extra step. Any help would be appreciated.

I use the same combo on my own cars, AA Tire Foam and DP Gel. The AA Foam is used for a final cleaner and base for the DP so I immediately wipe it off after spraying all four wheels (it's still wet and slightly foamy). After the tires are dry I'll apply the DP Gel with a foam applicator making sure that it doesn't build up behind the tire lettering, in crevices, etc. Then it sits for a minimum of one hour before driving. Any sling? Yeah sometimes but very little, and sometimes none.

ive let it sit for 24 hours and then wiped excess with mf towel and still got sling and had to QD it off. I really dont think you can stop it from happening if you use the tire gels. I use the Wolfgang one and the Pinnacle one, both are the same.

I use aa tire gel, never have any sling.Thin thin thin is the operative word here.:D

I have yet to successfully achieve no sling. No tire dressing = no sling for me. I have not used any in a while. Sick of cleaning it up each evening!!!

No sling method.

No way?? I heard that stuff slung a lot - or is it more the paint brush that is the factor?
I passed up a deal on that stuff a while back at Bigs Lots......

I haven't experienced sling from Meguiar's Endurance gel. I wipe excess off and make sure there's none in the lettering.

Apply tire dressing very thin. Let it dry for one hour. Wipe off excess tire dressing (if any).

I use mother's FX tire shine. It comes in a spray bottle, but I spray it onto a foam applicator. Spread it thin and even, let it dry for at least 45 min. Sometimes I do another coat If I feel like it.

I never buff any off, and I am yet to experience ANY sling off, even with some spirited driving later the same day,

I've use CG Silk Shine, AA Tire Foam, WG Tire Gel,and NXT Instant Shine. I've found that all don't sling if wiped down after about 5 min.

1) Ensure that the tyre surface is clean
2) Use a water- based (not a solvent-based) tyre dressing
3) Apply a thin layer with an applicator
4) Buff any excess tyre dressing residue

No sling with CG V.R.P. or Meg's Hot Wheel Tire Shine.

No you did not! I bought the Big Lots bottle, and it was expired, yes, expired, it wouldn't produce anything. Called Meguiars and they explained to me that the matter with this stores is that the product has been on the shelves or on storage for a very long time, and the chemicals don't work anymore. Got a new bottle of Hot Shine Gel thanks to that.

I've used WG's tire gel for about a year now and haven't incurred any sling off. I only apply 1 thin coat with applicator and let sit for about 30 minutes before driving. Never had to wipe off.

Poorboy's Bold and Bright should be added to the list. It has a very nice look. It cleans the tire and brings back that deep black look. Here is the kicker... It drys almost as soon as you put it on! No need to worry about sling or greasy tires. If you haven't tried it you probably won't believe it... My other go to tire dressing is Megs Hot Shine in the pump sprayer. Good stuff as well.

Yes. It has more to do with the paint brush. Obviously you can control better how much you are applying. The brush is not necessarly limited to gel applications. It works quite well on liquids also.

I really like AA tire foam. I usually apply it last and let it sit overnight before moving the car so I never get sling.
