How To Properly Detail Exterior Plastic?

On some vehicles, the window pillar post is a matte plastic material. What is the proper way to detail this area? I assume polish and wax is a no no. My plan is to wash with a car shampoo with the rest of the car and dry normally. What options are there?

To polish them would increase the shine, so if you want to prevent that then no polishing. You can use APC (all purpose cleaner) to get them nice and clean, use alcohol to assure the substrate is nice and free of oils and then coat them with CarPro CQuartz DLUX

Also you have to watch. Some of thoes pillars are really decals.
