How to remove windshield wiper scratches

I guess something had got caught one of my blades and it scratched my windshield. Wondering what the best approach to remove the fine scratches are.

I was thinking that's what I'd have to do but is there anything that can help lessen them until I order the products and they arrive?

Afraid not as you need cerium oxide to remove the scratches. You can try a rubbing compound but do not use 0000 steel wool.
