I feel like my buddy is getting hosed on this deal with ziebart diamond gloss by having to pay them every year to get his truck recoated. Does anyone know what they use or how to remove it? I'm guessing they use something like crystal serum light or c quartz UK to protect the vehicle but not sure. Makes you wanna root through their dumpster lol. Thanks in advance

If they say they used Ziebart....what makes you think they used a more expensive coating like CQuartz?

Confused.

If they did use CQuartz UK, why in the heck would you want to remove it?

More Confused.

I'm not sure what they used. I'm trying to save him money by not going there and supplying the same service for way less. I'm just guessing at what they use.

And sorry I should of said that Ziebart is the name of the company and they apply their diamond gloss coating. They do window tinting and rust proofing. They charge close to $500 for the first time and then like $150-200 every year after.

I've found the easiest way to totally remove
any paint Sealant, is to just polish them off.

@funx650 are you talking just a light polish or a heavier one. Sorry for the newb questions

•A light polish will do the trick.

•But before beginning any polishing step...
-also take into consideration the
overall condition of the paint...and:
-how aggressive of an abrasive product
is needed to return it to a desired, or
a satisfactorily accepted state.

•That means, IMO, it's time for:
-Paint Inspection (Swirl Finder Light);
-followed by the obligatory "Test Spot".

Well if you want to pay for something like that that's fine but your paying for something that is really kind of a paint sealant type material.

There are better products on the market and this is so over priced and "Hyped" Tell your buddy to save his money and if he wants his truck to be protected then look around as there are several products that can be purchased for less and applied.
Just a thought, Ziebart is very over priced in many of what it installs, Dealers offer these services also but beware . . . . . . . . it is really a negotiating priced item they do to get you to buy the car as it is nothing more than a paint sealant and they offer leather and other kinds of gimmicks to make money and I feel that they offer really no protection as something you could do or use at home.

This was a big practice in the 70's, 80's & 90's but with bc/cc paint they are not offered as much as they were before.

Again it is his money and if it makes him happy then be so . . . . Good Luck . . . . .

I mean it has done a pretty decent job. But at the same time I'm seeing light swirling in his paint. If I was to take it off I'd prob try chemical guys v38 first and maybe vss to remove all the scratches. They aren't bad at all but still noticeable. And then try applying C quartz uk. I just think he is getting hosed on the prices he pays.

I recently used the CarPro Reflect polish to remove a quartz based coating. See if you have something similar.
