So once you've washed your paint and removed all the bugs, the next step is to use IronX to decontaminate your paint from iron filings. I also have a how to on cleaning doorjambs if you're interested :) So here are parts 18 and 19 of the ongoing Exterior Car Detail Series!

How to use Iron-X:

1: Wait until you have a bad cold and can't smell anything
2: See #1

Cherry scent my a$$. It has to be the most lingering intense stink I've ever encountered.

When I waft the scent, I get a tinge of rhino butthole mixed in with just a touch of decaying roadkill, all blended in with the main scent of construction yard porta-potty after a 12 hour shift.

Quite the pleasant smell if you ask me

I used trix , I think that's the name, its iron x and tar x mixed. It actually smells good. Don't know how they did it considering how nasty the 2 are separately

The lemon one smells like Lemon Meringue Sulfuric Rotten Egg Pie. Smells much better sprayed tho--I made the mistake of smelling it directly out of the bottle. Horrible decision.

:props:

It's the shut off valve from Dramm. I like it because I can get a somewhat pressurized stream if I want and instantly change it to full flow water.

Amazon.com : Dramm 12353 Heavy-Duty Brass Shut-Off Valve : Garden Hose Parts : Patio, Lawn & Garden

It won't get you the clean output of a garden hose sprayer, but that is very easy to give up in exchange of no longer having to turn off the hose, then take of the sprayer, then turn on the hose again to get a full stream of water.
 
With some of you have concerns about the scent of Iron-X, you could consider Sonax Fallout Cleaner.
 
It's more of a nuisance than it is a concern. IronX is too good at what it does to be replaced imo. If something comes out that is outright MUCH better than IronX, I'll look into replacing. In the meantime, I'm happy with the performance, just annoyed that it smells so awful.
