Well my family and myself were hit hard by Sandy. We lost two foundation walls to our home and we were displaced for 5 months. We are back home and very happy. But I lost a lot of personal items in the storm. Since my basement is my only real storage all of my tools and whatnot are placed there. My detailing bin (PC buffer, WG products, Lake Country pads, etc) was completely under water. I disassembled the PC about a week or so after the storm and cleaned it up the best I could. It was DOA. So with the house as priority number 1 buying another PC wasn't in the budget. So I replaced it with a Harbor Freight DA. The pads I just recently threw in the washer and they cleaned up nicely. They are a bit discolored but I don't feel any crap on them. Microfibers were washed and are back in service. The WG products did not take on any water so they are still good to go. I will be detailing my car, maybe as early as tomorrow if I feel up to it, very soon. Hopefully this HF buffer is as good as it seems. I will let you all know. I haven't tested it yet but I do believe that my Metro Blaster, which was bought just a few months before the storm, is also DOA. I took it apart the best I could but it doesn't look good. Hopefully the detailing gods will be looking down on me and this thing will fire up.
