So Jeep has started allowing pop up ads on screens, in only one model so far from what I read, but will this expand to other models, or even other makes within Stellantis? I'm hoping they'd only be while the vehicle is stationary, and in park, but I don't know this for sure. Would this stop you from buying a Jeep? Jeep has never been on my shopping list, but any brand that does this is out.

 
I guess it's like the owners tell people..."It's a JEEP thing, you wouldn't understand"

After driving a couple Jeeps, I'd never own one...but that's a different topic.

This is a pretty desperate move by Stalantis. I'm not interested in any product from their portfolio, but if I was this would likely make me think twice. On any modern car there are already enough distractions and having the thing serving up adds is just another display message you have to deal with. At least when the manufacturer sends you the same stuff in the mail or via e-mail, you can dispose of it easily without even having to read it.
 
I'm immune to ads. Don't pay attention to them but do find them annoying.

Some years ago I got a random phone call. The caller stated that if I watched a certain movie on Fox network they would pay me $50.00. So I watched the movie and same service called me back the next day. Unbeknownst to me they wanted to know what I retained/ thought about the commercials that were shown in the commercial breaks.

As they ask me about 15 or so commercials I couldn't recall seeing 95% of them. The only one that I recalled seeing, I retained very few details. I did receive the $50..00.

I just tune them out.
 
I almost bought one back in the 90s, it was a Cherokee 4.0 I6, I liked the way it drove, but I found rust in the roof, so gave it a hard no. I later found out it had been rolled.
 
My wife owned one from that generation when we were married. Build quality was terrible and it was mechanically unsound long before it should have been. Looking back we both realize how unsafe the backseat was too and feel fortunate we never had an accident with any passengers back there.
 
The original story was about the latest Grand Cherokee, and news in this morning says Stellantis has axed that model in Australia, and possibly all RHD markets. Hardly surprising, when they released the new model, prices went up by $17k, so no one bought them, a year later and they're sitting discounted at $10k below MSRP, and still not selling. The stock they have is now over a year old. Back a decade ago, the Grand Cherokee was the best selling large SUV in Australia, now it can't compete. Jeep sales have tanked by 96% over all models in the last decade. Bad after sales support, general unreliability, and unrealistic pricing have destroyed the brand here.

Yep...sounds like Stellantis, or whatever it's called, spelled, etc, absolutely zero leadership, sense of direction, new products, quality control, etc. This is what happens when your tossed around like a cheap _ _ _ _ E...owned by us, then the Germans, then the Italians and now the French

That's not all that different from the US...except they still sell a full model line.

For the US market, pricing and reliability have killed them. Gladiators are piling up and they can't sell them; there are still a ton of unsold 2024's. They are asking $90K for a Grand Wagoneer? It's nice, but not $90K nice...when it runs. Overall their sales are down 34% since 2018. That's not a small number.

I remember when Chrystler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram were bought by Stalantis. At the time I remember someone commenting about how maybe the new European owners would drive improved quality. That comment was quickly countered by reminding that person that two of the companies main brands at the time were Fiat and Lancia who were bottom of the Euro reliability ratings similar to the brands they just bought. Peugeot and Citroen used to be pretty decent, but they seem to be on their own. I'd be curious to hear how Opel and Vauxhall are doing under Stalantis compared to when they were under GM a few years ago.
