Congratulations on your choice Vargas. Recently I saw Evan (from this forum) follow this route, and I must say he started making amazing things just after (he was already good, for sure), but like you've said, there's always a lot to learn.

Wish you the best from your training, please, keep us updated.

Kind Regards.

honestly, and forgive me, but I have never understood why people would do this.
Let's see what else i need
its extremely expensive and that money could be much better spent on tools, advertising, stocking up on products, renovating your shop,

buying a company vehicle,

or even multiple other detailing training courses that cost hundreds instead of thousands. I have his book, and there are some decent points in there if you are just starting out, but I have always viewed Renny as a good salesman more than somebody who can teach you things that nobody else could. detailing isn't rocket science. with a little bit of experience, you can do this type of work on average vehicles and get great results 99% of the time. and you shouldn't have to pay for 2 years worth of car payments to get that experience. you can't perfect anything in 1 week's time. it takes repetition. if his course was $1,000, then maybe consider it a vacation and seminar in one. great. but for the price, I just cant see it unless he can guarantee you will double your business or something like that. you live just about as far away from his course as you possibly could, on opposite coasts, so to think that he is going to be "sending" or "referring" you work, is very unlikely. your customers most likely wont know or care who Renny Doyle is, or that you paid him a huge fee for a training course. they just want their car cleaned and protected. does a plaque on the wall stating that you paid a ton for a 1 week training course in California, by a guy that used to clean for the President, make your customers want to pay you more? its very doubtful. but, seriously, I hope it works out for you. take lots of pictures and let us know how it goes. (lets be honest, just getting to spend a week out there certainly holds some value, the area is amazing.)

I am a Network Engineer by trade and schooling and also do Network Security. i have been doing it for the past 15 years and guess what i still go to school every semester to further my education. Training is not something i ever stop doing. could i have chosen another course, probably, did i want to no. this is the route i chose, it might not be yours, but this one is mine. Spending the time in big bear is nice and that is where my wife is from so we will take the kids with us and enjoy the time out there with the family as well.

so as far as your suggestions go, as you can see i have all the best tools and products on the market and company vehicle, i dont think i need a newer one, unless you can convince my wife to trade in my brand new 2014 Silverado on a 2015 version of it. there is only some much you can learn for a youtube video, i chose to learn from the best in the field

You sir are sadly mistaken in all your thoughts about this training.

I can attest to his training and how I was before and how I am now in my work and business.

Is it a lot of money? Yes, but what you get for that week one on one can not be matched anywhere else in the country. You get more than just a one week training. While I will not disclose as to what more one can gain, I can say that its well worth it.

You certainly can gain more than you think in one weeks time. this is not a week of talking and watching. It is a week of hard work each day working on real world vehicles and usually something that is crazy to say the least. Its the furtherest thing from a vacation and if you see it as one then you would be sadly mistaken.

While I did my training it was a start at 8am in the shop every morning and never stopped until 6 and a few nights we went until 10pm.

Those who attend the training are able to make profits in the business and and run the business as it should.

I don't tell my customers that I have trained with Renny but I know what I have learned with him during the training make my customers talk about my company and the work that I put out.

You see Renny as a salesman but you haven't seen him teach and haven't seen him detail.

I see him as a friend and a mentor along with his wife Diane who can run a polisher and kill and interior like you wouldn't believe.

Renny didn't used to clean for the President, he was able to take the Orginal Air Force One and restore the plane to its natural beauty.

Thanks for your opinion. No problem. We all have a voice. We don't come onto forums if we don't expect to hear others thoughts. That's what we are here for.

To be honest, your being totally rude about this whole deal and disrespectful. Just my opinion too!

He always is, he never has anything really worth while to contribute. Congrats on the course RFA. I'm happy for you and the fact that you're dedciated and you can afford to further your education. Plus isn't it a tax write off!!! I have been selling packaging equipment for 23+ years and continue to educate myself. I had the first laptop in my sales force back in 1991 and had to pay for it myself. I had the first Palm Treo in my sales force and had to pay for it myself. But those tools separated me from my competition becasue they didn't have the tools. You have to invest in yourself to make money. Some people get it some don't. Obviously this guy is jealous that Renny can get people to pay for his kowledge. Note, he worked for $$$$ salesman, but he doesn't say he was one of them! Im the MAN

Not really, not as this forum as you will soon find out. :dblthumb2:

Your defintion of ideas and sharing don't necessarily go along with the spirit of this particular forum. I feel confident that you will learn that in the near future. I have looked at your posts and most are negative or like this :

"I have all of the expensive equipment, Dupray, etc... I have other forms of income, so I can afford the top-of-the-line tools.
I have a huge amount of experience. (huge ego) I would put my years up against anybody anywhere. I ran the detail dept at one of the largest car dealerships in the Midwest for 7 years. have been to 3 different detailing schools around the country and was the class president of my auto body school. I know my stuff. I just have 2 problems #1 BY FAR I am way too nice of guy, my conscience gets the best of me 90% of the time. #2 I live in an area where people don't/won't spend much on their vehicles. its really no big deal, as I am slowly making my way into another side of the car business. one where I can use the relationships I have built over the years to make 5 times more money, for much less work. I will never forget a conversation I had with the sales manager at the lot I worked at who told me "there are countless numbers of ways to make money in this world". its very true, and working yourself to death for $30 an hour is not it. I really enjoy the self-satisfaction that comes with taking a nasty car to a fresh clean one, but I have always known its not a long term job, unless you want to be one of those people who are broken by the age of 60. at 6 foot 4 240 lbs, I am at a disadvantage already. you have to constantly improve in life, but like most of us, this is what I really enjoy doing, but where i live, you cant get rich in this business.

WOW!! At that, I'll leave this discsusion alone.

Congrats again to OP for attending RD'd ono on one training!

Well said!

Congratulations Vargas!!! :dblthumb2:
An amazing opportunity for sure. Look forward to reading about this experience. Have a blast mate. :dblthumb2:

Congrats bro!! Honestly after reading the book I tried contacting them through email, to get more info on the course that was six months ago. And I am still waiting for my response. Diane did contact me back about the little things I asked about which I did appreciate. But still nothing on the course. So I don't think I'll ever attend. That may change but I guess I have to settle with Mike as my first stop ;).
