I sweep this carpet 5 times and still could not get everything out. To me it looked like skin flakes. I tried every brush and vac attachment. I was pulling receipts for 2007 from under the seats. I streamed everything and scrubbed with apc. Any suggestions?View attachment 37022View attachment 37023View attachment 37024View attachment 37025View attachment 37026View attachment 37027View attachment 37028View attachment 37029View attachment 37030View attachment 37031View attachment 37032View attachment 37033View attachment 37034View attachment 37035

I thought about that but didn't have one on hand.

Got masking tape? The 'brown' kind.

Wrap it sticky side out around your hand and just start patting the surfaces.

Did you blow with air first to loosen it up? I usually blow from the back floorboards to the front, then I vacuum.

If this work was for a customer, how did they react to the finished result? From your photos i compared the before and afters and they looked pretty darn good to me. Also considering you cleaned out 8 year old receipts from under the seat it may have never received the type of cleaning attempt you gave it.

I am very critical of my own work, even my best work. I always say "how could i have obtained better results?" and it is an indication that you are a true "Geek" for asking here. Basically what i'm saying is "doing what you could" looks pretty darn good AND you are pursuing better by asking here.

In my mind...you're doing well! :dblthumb2:

Some very helpful posts here. Specially Mr. Puckman.

How about a fork, or metal dog grooming brush, so as to "rake" the fibers, aids in loosening.

Yes, Rico, i brush the heck out of filthy mats and carpets before vacuuming and then "mid" vacuuming to work loose some of the deeper stuff. GREAT point!

If you vac'ed 5 times start of with a good stiff nylon brush sorta thing, vac a couple of times, then brush again and vac another 3 times if you want. I even use a tooth brush for areas like next to the accelerator pedal and tight spots like that.

I also like the blow effort first too. Don't worry about blowing crap out of crevices, center console etc. onto the floor...you'll get them later.

Shoot! I KNEW i forgot something on my LD order yesterday! Damn!

Seriously, i wanted one or two of those exact brushes for both carpets/mats and tire sidewalls. Just placed my order of several things (except the cyclo brushes) and got my shipping confirmation today. Oh well...next sale.

Get all four, so you will have a dedicated brush for Tires, Interior Leather, Carpet. The blue one is sort of a Tweener that I use on beat up interiors, like this one
