Well, my wife found it, it's call LA's Totally Awesome that you can buy at the dollar tree.

I mixed the 32oz bottle into a gallon of water and wow, what a great tire cleaner.

My tires on my truck were really filty so I tested it against my favorite tire cleaner, Meg's Hot Shine Wheel & Tire Cleaner.

I sprayed half of the tire with the Awesome cleaner, the other half with Meg's.
Let it sit for about two minutes , brushed them then rinsed, both sides were very clean and black looking when they dried.

So now I will go and buy 10 bottles which will give me a strong APC for 10 bucks.
That's 10 gallons of APC

This is a great product. I use it strait though. It works well for tires, and also to clean pads. Pretty much anytime you need a strong degreaser (strait).

I use LATA straight as well. The fumes are nasty but the cleaning power is great. Gotta be careful with it around wheels though.

Next time I go to the dollar store (well one of them anyway there are 6 different ones at walking distance from my house), I will see if they sell it.

I realized today just how much Wheel cleaner I am using (I am talking about the rims not the tires). I use Meg's Hot Wheels, pretty expensive stuff (about 8$ for 22 onces).

Can anyone suggest something cheaper that works well?

Can I use an APC like D103? Or a degreaser?

Optimum Power Clean is great on wheels. So is Zep Citrus which can be had cheaply from Home Depot.

I will mix Awesome half and half for the wheels , it should work fine and only cost .50 cents :xyxthumbs:

It states on the bottle acid free.
I'll give it a shot, careful mixing it.

Be careful!!...'LA Awesome' does contain: DISODIUM TRIOXOSILICATE (Sodium Metasilicate)

-It reacts very violently with acids
-It doesn't play nice with certain metals (zinc, aluminium, tin, and lead...forming hydrogen gas)
-etc.; etc.; etc.

If you so desire: You can find more information regarding this chemical here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/67979-auto-magic-red-hot.html {Post# 6}

Be Safe!!

{I know for certain I would never use this product around any vehicles' wheels!!!}

Thank you very much for raising your concerns with me.
I may not use it now on my CC wheels, just tires, engine, etc.

We do. If you have a Dollar Tree close to you they should carry it for $1.25 for 32 oz. I also get their Oxy Clean version for washing my microfibers.

Oh hi!

^_^

Do you find Oxy-clean better to use than a dedicated Micro fiber detergent?

Some people swear that using a dedicated detergent helps prevent pre-mature breakdown of the microfiber..:confused:
