I just cleaned my gas and brake pedals. I would like to protect them and make them look better but nothing slippery. Any suggestions?

The general rule for pedals is the same as for motorcycle tires--no dressings.

I suppose you could use something like Tuf Shine which is completely dry to the touch, but it is still kind of smooth/slippery, hmm....
 
I clean with simple green. Nice smell an no slippery residue
 
I would use just clean them with soap water type deal. Maybe a bit of apc. You do not want to have slippery pedals. I think insurance companies have fantasy dreams about things like this like most people have day dreams about winning the lotto or getting a dream car, lol.
 
Adams ceramic spray coating works on rubber Matt’s and no grease. Test before use of course. Also Koch Chemie Gummifix

I've found Koch Chemie GUF (Gummifix) to be very underwhelming, and that's coming from a Koch Chemie fan. It certainly doesn't induce slipperiness, but then it also doesn't really improve the finish.

I'm assuming they are just plastic pedals without a metallic finish? If so, something like Solution Finish would be a good option here. Unlike a dressing which simply sits on the surface, this actually penetrates the plastic itself for a semi-permanent finish without creating a slip hazard. You'd clean with an APC and IPA before application. Another option would be ADS Trim+, which is a combined dye and sealant, Solution Finish is a dye only.

IME pedals are rubber, not plastic, although I see in your picture it looks like you are about to apply it to some rubber trim. Does Solution Finish work on rubber? If so, it would seem like something people would be using on tires, which I never remember hearing.

Depends on the vehicle. My Ranger has rubber brake and clutch pedal pads, but the throttle is hard plastic, most cars are like that.

I think we all need to be careful with AI. That summary was an amalgamation of 5 different sources.

Maybe Solution Finish is a lot more expensive in Australia; TRC just had the 12oz bottle on sale for $19 US, that would seem to me to be competitive with other tire coatings, even at the regular $28 price.

I'd just give them a nice weekly clean because whatever you put on is only going to transfer onto the sole of your shoes eventually.

Just my 2 cents worth.
