So being in my first year in my new location (mobile though) things are going pretty well. I haven't pushed my advertising to hard as I work full time and run this as its full time as well and end up busier than I can handle.

My goal is to be full time detailing in the near future. My thoughts are to get another detail rig set up and rolling by beginning of next year. If I can do that I can push the advertising harder and while still maintaining my full time job and take all the appointments possible, until this proves to be a sufficient live able income.

I was going to do this with my personal vehicle that I recently deemed a business vehicle and is getting wrapped. However, that vehicle goes down or gets wrecked im out for awhile!

Has anyone gone this route? Thoughts on it? Insurance, paycheck etc?

All ideas experiences, criticism welcome!

I'm in the same situation as you. I haven't been pushing my advertising as well. Mainly because I don't want to take in too much that I can't handle. I'm a one man team and also work full time at my other job. End goal is to become a full time detailer.

I'm getting my tailgate wrapped next week and my website should be up as well. I'm a bit scared of being too exposed that I'll be overwhelmed with too many detailing interests.

If you haven't yet, get a copy of Renny Doyle's "How to start a home based car detailing business". Good stuff!

Ill check that book out. So far im just running window decals and website (onsiteautowash.com).... but next week or so i should have my half wrap complete. although been to busy with everything to complete the site lol if its not work or detailing its vehicle maintenance house and life lol.

One thing i fear is someone not doing the quality work I do. So letting someone off on their own is an uneasy task.
