What are the best Size buffing pads to use. I know the variety of options is endless as far as the providers.........Any recommendations are appreciated.

if you have a traditional PC style DA, then get a 5" DA backing plate and some 5" DA megs foam discs and/or B&S 5.5" foam pads...

If you read Mike's articles, which he's no doubt linked to, you'll see him recommend a 5" LC Urethane Backing Plate, and the standard "go-to" 5.5" LC Flat Foam Pads.

I took his advice, and these do work very well for basic Polishing needs.

The 5.5" Flat Pad seems an ideal size, to correct fairly quickly, covering the larger panels, and are a good compatible choice for machines like the PC, Griots, Megs, Harbor Freight DAs.

I have found these Pads to be quite durable, and IMO are a very good value for their cost.

Have a good number of the various pads in this line-up and you'll be good to go.

Another good choice is the Meguiars Soft Buff DBP5 DA Polisher 5 inch Backing Plate AG Part# MG-DBP5
This backing plate work great with both the Meguiars DMC5 DA Microfiber Cutting Discs & the flat foam pads.
It has a black back plate with a white line printed on it so marking on the backing plate is no longer needed.

I like the Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads 3 Pack 1) Cyan 1) Tangerine 1) Crimson

For the traditional DA style machines, Microfiber discs and thin foam pads make them amazing machines with a 5" BP, especially the weaker PC.
