It's been a few years but I think I used to be a member here once before (sometime before 2007). If so, the site certainly has changed a lot. In any case, I learned a lot about detailing here and acquired a number of tools and products along the way.

The reason for the absence is that I bought a business in 2007 but also ended up working a corporate job. I no longer had much time for detailing. In the interim, my personal fleet (not counting my kids cars) has grown to 7 vehicles.

I guess my first question will be this - is it OK on this forum to ask for local detailer references to help me keep my cars looking good when I don't have time to do it myself?

You bet!

I do this all the time for people that can't figure out how to join a forum. Here's what I do, I start a thread with a title like this,

Pro Detailer wanted in City & State

Then fill in the pertinent info in the body of the message.

Post it in this forum group...

Detailing 101

It's a busy forum group.
