When you guys do an interior how do you clean the rails which the front seats ride on? Do you actually remove the seats? Do you get that area perfectly clean? Or do you just do the best you can? I did someone's interior yesterday and I did the best I can on the seat rails and the area around them, but it's still doesn't look good there. It really bothers me that I left an area looking like that but I couldn't do anything else about it. I'm not going to get into removing people's front seats, but I really hate leaving areas that aren't at least close to perfect.

If there super funky I remove them. Other then that, I use my lug nut brush with an APC mixture

Some of those railings are super sharp. Be carefull

I would rate these ones as super funky. I'm sure it's not hard to remove seats, but I really don't know how to do that. I wish I would have thought of my lug nut brush, I'll certainly keep that in mind for the next time.

I just use a toothbrush and APC, then dry with a terry rag and/or compressed air. Normally I won't pull seats out unless the carpet underneath is REALLY nasty.

If the seats have air bags, I wouldn't recommend you removing them unless you are familiar

You could always use a paint brush too

I'm not very mechanically inclined so I'm going to avoid getting into pulling out seats. Like I said I'm sure it's not hard and since I've never done that before I don't want to get myself into a mess that I can't get myself out of. Especially on other people's cars.

If they don't have airbags, its really no big deal. 4 bolts and one or two plugs

Just be sure you tighten the crap out of them on installation. You don't want the seat to come undone in case of an accident

I remove seats... if there are airbags, disconnect the - battery cable and wait 10 minutes before disconnecting the airbag.Anyways, the rails come off with the seats anyway... so if your objective is not to clean the carpet underneath, you're better off not removing them.

Try to use steam & a all purpose cleaner [ me'guiars ]
just spray it on the rail's, use the steam pressure to clean then just wipe it

it work's just fine

Jumpin right in I see offering advice. I like that :props:

Hope to see you around often Fat Boy :)

Lay a towel under the rails so none of the nastiness drips on the carpet. Spray APC liberally and either steam or agitate with a paint brush. Dry with compressed air.
