Interior Detailing - Steam Cleaning Carpet


Here's a tip...
Get a sturdy plastic table to clean floor mats. This will save your back and your knees because you won't be cleaning things like floor mats on the ground.


Here's my buddy Frank using the Dupray Hill Injection Steam Cleaner to clean the floor mats out of this 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS.

The benefits to using steam to clean

1: Kills germs, bacteria, viruses, etc.

2: No chemicals involved, perfect for people that are chemical sensitive.

3: Introduces very little water to the surface so carpet, fabric and upholstery dries faster.

4. Hot steam loosens the bond between the fibers and ground in dirt and grime better than cold cleaning methods.



The unique feature about the Dupray Hill Injection Steam Cleaner is that you can refill with water on the fly as the water tank is NOT pressurized. Simply loosen and remove the cap on the water tank and add water as needed.

No need to turn the machine off and wait for it to cool down so you can safely add more water.

I got the super Inox and wouldn't be without it. Hint, get the 220 volt unit if you are doing alot (business) with it. Never have to wait for steam.

Thanks so much for coming with this subject. I'm introducing steam in my interior package and this thread came as reassurance to what I'm doing and saying, when educating my customers.

I've tried steaming every surface of my car (mostly interior) with mixed (but all great) results. The MF wrapped around the tip like shown above looks the most appropriated for most applications, including on leather seats and all plastic appliances (just beware to follow all security concerns when using steamer, including the one you can damage plastic with it).

A tip to remove 'foot scratches' on doors plastic interior is to wrap (only one wrap) a MF towel over the small steam tip. Few passes of this 'precision steaming' over stains on plastic parts are enough to remove the marks.

I'm impressed. The Hill Infection model really works great. I can only imagine how much faster the Super Inox is... PLUS it's a fully self-contained roll-around model.

Mike, yes it is a great unit. The only problem I do have with it is the handle on the vacuum/ steam injection hose is a bit big. There has been times that I just remove thefront seats so I can use the unit easier. Of course this is not all bad to do because you get to see what people have slopped in between the seats and the console. YUCK
