I am going to detail my sister’s car on the weekend of the 28th of June. The car has a dark cloth interior and I would like a few recommendations on what product to use.

I can not see any noticeable stains but I know they are there.

Use Folex or any fabric otc cleaner and then protect with 303 fabric guard.

TY

Usually all the cars I work on have leather or vinyl seats.

I use Meguiar's APC for general cleaning, along with a vapor steam cleaner. I save the Folex for stubborn stains.

Meguiar's APC or Tuff Stuff Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner. I spray it on and then wipe it down with a microfiber towel.

Cloth seats I use Woolite 8:1 and Folex. After they dry 303 Fabric Guard.

Careful with the 303 FG spray drifting back on your skin.

am i not using this folex right??.. i mean i see the stain disappear but sometimes when I do a final vacuum and go over where that stain was.. I see it re appear.. im having a hard time with carpet stains lately.. I know I need to upgrade soon to either a steamer or a carpet extractor.. but with only in the start up phase of my company.. I cant throw down that kinda cash at the moment.. all my money is tied up in promotions ..etc.

at the moment what im doing is using a general all purpose cleaner from vertex ind.
Sometimes I use oxi clean.. but again I get mixed results with that sometimes.
I heard about folex so I bout some from home depot.. and it works on coffee stains for the most part.. but like today I had a hell job to do.. stains everywhere… I followed the instructions with folex.. and it just seems like was spreading the stain around.. it did dilute it but not getting the great results you guys are reporting. Also is folex ok to use on cloth seats.????

The exterior of a car I got down.. and cleaning dashboards and scuff marks..no sweat.. but I hate leaving a job and still have a stain or two because my products were just not cutting it.. or maybe im doing it wrong .. any help?

Thanks again.

I will pick up the Folex this weekend. Thanks guys I appriciate the help.

How wet are you getting the carpet? Many people make the mistake of over saturation. If you can't extract the moisture fully then you are probably going to have stains wick up as the carpet dries. And sometimes you have detergents that don't rinse clean from the carpet, as dirt seems to stick much easier as it dries because of the residue. I wouldn't recommend Oxi-clean for that reason, it doesn't seem to rinse easily.

This is just my limited experience in cleaning carpets. For tough stains that are coming out, but dry with spotting, a drying agent might be needed, which helps to prevent the stain from returning as the carpets dry. It absorbs the moisture and stain as it wicks up. It is a powder which you can then vacuum up after it does the job.

For difficult coffee stains you may need a specific chemical for breaking up tannin residues. There is quite a bit of chemistry behind all this stuff, so the professional grade products are not generally sold or labeled as a one-size fits all type of cleaner in a bottle with many requiring mixing.

There are also red-dye enzymes and such which will remove those nearly impossible to clean stains where the kiddies like to sit and spill. Cleaning carpet is a bit of a science!

Where would I get a product like this? Is there a brand that you can name? Would it be at an average home improvement store or do I have to order it?
