I currently drive a ford.

I hear they will try and compete with the S class....not going to happen!

I will say Ford has impressed me the most out of all the domestics in the past few years. After detailing some of the new Explorers, Edges, and Fusions, I have to say they are certainly on the right path. They may not be on par with some of the Europeans yet, but from the looks of things they aren't far behind.

I like the change. I think Lincoln can compete with the S class. I also feel if ford dumped a bit more money into the brand, it will be back to its prestige status. Lincoln has made some good cars over the years

I don't like the new design of the MKZ at all. I have a 12 Fusion and 10 Shelby and have been very happy with both. I like the new Fusion and so far it has received great reviews.

My Fusion lease is up in November and Highlander in February. Might go Fusion and Explorer, but have my eye on Chrysler 300 and Durango R/T.

inyadreams, the c300 has very poor quality. Even though it was redesigned crysler has not been fully yet imo

The new 300 has received some really good reviews from the industry and consumers. I drove a 12 300 srt8 and loved it.

That is the beauty of leasing, if the car is a POS just give it back.

I will admit I don't own any Chrysler products, but I have detailed a lot. From Rams to Avengers to 300's. they all easily have the worst build quality of any vehicles I've ever been around. Inconsistent panel gaps, cheap interior materials, and just full of rattles all around.

Why not add some more boosted cars to your family? Boosted Fusion and boosted Explorer.:xyxthumbs:

I wish Lincoln all the best. Lincoln was not really a unique brand but just heavily loaded (feature wise) Ford product - always shared the platform with Ford and Mercury.

My Lincoln MKZ was really just a very refined Fusion. The engineers did the best they could with the platform and the motor.

They need to develop unique products to rise from entry luxury to true luxury.

You have to remember that the downfall of Lincoln for being true luxury was that Ford owned Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Aston Martin at one point. Those were Ford's true luxury brands at the time, which in turn caused Lincoln to fall down to near Mercury's status. So, you could say Ford kind of set Lincoln up to fall in terms of true luxury.

The Lincolns of today are much more than glorified Ford's in my opinion. The overall feel, quality, and fit and finish is slight better.

The new MKZ is no longer just a glorified Fusion, even though they may share the same platform. It no longer looks nothing like the Fusion. The MKZ will now have some tech unique to it, like CCD adjustable suspension. It will also have the option of the 3.7L V6, you can't get a V6 in the Fusion anymore. The MKZ was their first model created by a dedicated team at its new Lincoln Design Studio, and was even supervised by someone they hired from Cadillac.

So, since the MKZ is just the start for the new Lincoln, I can't wait to see what they roll out next.:xyxthumbs:

I would likely prefer to see Lincoln left out to pasture and concentrate on just Ford. Very few manufacturers have successfully run multi platforms with truly unique and different models.

Good point. This is why Pontiac no longer exists.

The new lincons are ugly, but still better than whatever chrysler is putting out.

Toyota - Lexus
Nissan - Infinity

Cadillac has been fairly distinct from the other GM brands with unique style and general engineering from what I have seen.

The entry luxury space is quite crowded.

Honda-Acura

I get what everyone is saying about Chrysler/Dodge, but I just love the styling. We have a mix of GM/Ford/Dodge vehicles at work and they get abused bad. I have to say the Chargers and Durangos hold up well. The new Chrysler/Dodge models get good reviews unlike the previous years.

I wish Lincoln made better looking cars because I would definitely get 1 or 2, but just can't get past the styling.

I've been very happy with my MKX. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with it. They need to put a Diesel engine in it. I am very tempted by Audi for that very reason.

I'd agree that diesels in more makes/models is a step in the right direction...provided they don't try and do what GM did in the mid 80's with those gas converted hunks of boat anchor. GM should have been forced to buy everyone of those cars back, or at the least payed to have gas engines placed in those cars as replacements for the boat anchors they put under the hoods of some of their models. Grand Prix comes to mind among others.

Grrrrr.....

Can you tell that's a sore spot with me? LOL!!

GM took my dad for a ride back then and it wasn't in a car either. I partly blame the dealers as well for shotty business, but GM was well aware of the boat anchors they built.

Of course, diesels have come a long way since those days.
