Is acrylic wax safe to use on PPF?

I recently bought some acrylic wax to try on my wife's car. I also thought about using it on my car, but mine is covered in PPF. Does anyone know if acrylic wax is safe to use on PPF? Or is it kind of pointless to put an acrylic wax on top of PPF?
