shopping by brand it seems like he owns pinnacle, mckees37, wolfgang, black diamond, ect ect. when i first stared shopping here i didnt realize the majority of products were all put out by the same guy. i thought the best companies here just earned thier reputation?

Oh they EARNED their reputation. You think the hundreds of people on here that use and review them are all paid by Bob or something? Nope. They use these products cause they are some of the best on the market. Don't worry that he owns the products and the site.

Couldn't agree more.

The products that are labeled as the "House" brands, are definitely top notch. Not to mention, that in the years that the house brands have been around they have been taking forum/customer feedback to aid in the tweaking/modification of the formulas that are out there.

One of my favorite waxes to date is still Pinnacle Souveran, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant has seemingly pulled me away from being a dedicated Collinite 845 fan, Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel fits the bill for the look and longevity that I desire, and the original XMT360 is still one of my favorite AIO's in my arsenal.

Autogeek wouldn't hang their reputation on trying to pass off sub-par products to consumers and professionals.

For the sake of clarity, Bob McKee, besides owning Pinnacle, Wolfgang Car Care, Marine 31, McKee's 37, McKee's RV, and BLACKFIRE, is the owner of Palm Beach Motoring Group, AutogeekOnline.net, Autopia.org, Robert McKee's Enterprises Inc and former owner of the Driver's Seats. Each respective brand operates as an independent company with its own unique website, customer service staff, etc. Bob McKee developed all-of-the-above over the last twenty years.

Stay tuned for an exciting announcement before SEMA. :dblthumb2:

If you're experiencing D114 anxiety, the cure is Optimum No Rinse. :xyxthumbs:

Nope. Not for me, at least. Love the product but am sensitive to the smell. (For some reason this only happens with car care products.) Was looking forward to finishing off my ONR and switching to D114. Now...I'm hosed. (Pun intended!)

What I need is for someone to come out with a Rinsless Wash WITHOUT the added "Coo-Aid + Jolly Rancher" smells. Hell, I'd love a whole product line line that!

:awesome:

Their instagram page had a picture of the Autogeek HQ with the name Autogeek.com and not Autogeek.net , I think theres something happening there too.

But that name change may have been a long time ago lol. I dunno now

I also have to throw in on Max's products earning their reputation especially among some of the professional detailer's i highly regard. I, myself, have used and continue to use an assortment of PBMG's branded products and they are ALL top notch on quality and results. I also agree with natewood and greatly appreciate how they respond to us user's with product tweaks, enhancements or just plain newly engineered products. I like how Bob and his staff listen and respond as best they can to what some of us in the trenches have to say. I am also appreciative of Mike Phillips offering sound and trusted counsel after decades of doing this stuff.

I certainly don't want to misrepresent your question or observation Fightnews, but even though PBMG "is" Bob McKee and he has developed some brands to sell it doesn't mean they are the least bit subpar in the universe of detailing products. Just the opposite...they are home run hitters and it's that business approach that has kept me here for a long time. He's committed to quality and his staff is as well.

I believe the bottom of the PBMG page (link above) explains that PBMG does sell the best companies products. I would argue that PBMG's brands (Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Blackfire, and McKee's) are actually the overwhelming minority of the products listed for sale.

Mike Phillips and the other PBMG staff seem to promote a lot of non-PBMG products too. Just look at the upcoming Competition Ready detailing class. They are showcasing Griot Garage Boss polishers and polishes. If their prerogative was to move PBMG products I doubt they would be using Griot's products.

Did The Driver's Seat close or does Max just not own it anymore? My parents live in Boca and I used to love visiting that location (when it was open) when I would go down there and visit. I know that closed. So, I'm wondering if they all did.

Not really, at one time someone else had the autogeek.com domain, but apparently it became available later.

I believe Max sold it to the gentleman who started managing that part of the operation when Max started Autogeek.

Up until 2015 we were known as Autogeek.net. We're now known as Autogeek.com.

I still haven't seen the answer. Is Bob McKee on the AGO forum? And what is his screen name?

Bob is on the forum every single day. He's a lurker. :)

The Driver's Seat is still in business. There is a store located in West Palm Beach and in Stuart (down the road from us).
