Is CarPro Hydro2Foam as great as it looks?

It really is a great product. Legit protection, good lubricity, decent cleaning power. But Do NOT let it dry. Work in small sections or work quickly.

What happens if it dries? turn to stone?
 
Great for hard to reach places, such as honey comb grilles and wheels.
 
If you washed your car first with another shampoo and got it clean could you just foam it on and rinse it off or do you have to rub it in?

Never washed with shampoo first because most shampoos have glossing agents or polymers. I guess you could foam, let it dwell for a few minutes and then rinse without washing since it's already been washed.

I would think Hydro2o would be a better option for you. Wash, rinse, spray on Hydro and power wash off.
Quickest way to protect your paint that I know of.

Lots of streaks. Same as with Hydro2 if it dries. Especially on glass. If you’re wanting to use it for its protection, then yes you can wash first then foam it down and then rinse off. I’d suggest something like Reset if you’re planning on washing first.

I totally agree. I use both Hydro2 as well as Hydrofoam. I prefer Hydro2 because I use a dedicated car soap with no gloss agent and polymer to wash. I follow up with Hydro2 while its still wet. Hydro2 is in a concentrate and I generally use a slightly higher dilution to minimize streaking (especially with dark color paint). It seems to work better with a power washer than just a hose.

What do you use to spray on the Hydro2?
 
I use a mist sprayer like the one they have here on AG. I generally use a dilution ratio of 1 to 9 and one panel at a time. It is important to rinse thoroughly and I tend to rinse adjacent panels as well while applying this to minimize raw product drying on me from overspray. If you are using Hydrofoam... its better to use the bucket method and do one panel at a time. Again... a power washer works better than a hose.

Good stuff but as mentioned do not let it dry or you will have to break out the clay and/or polisher to correct the mess.
 
I don’t think washing with Hydrofoam is worth it. I’ve got a bottle here and used it twice, and I had a couple spots where it quick dried on panels that splashed over even though I was using a bucket And sponge to wipe it on. Last time I had to break out my polisher to clean up a mess was in the early days of reload before the reformulation. Same type of streaking. I’d much rather do a rinseless with Ech20 and wipe on elixr. It’s a more precise procedure. Carpro (and everyone else) is trying to put Si02 in every product that they make, it’s not necessary. Just my two cents and opinion.
 
Lots of great info and things to consider. What does this do to your washing mitts and drying towels?

You could do that but if the car is not too dirty then hydro2 foam works just fine.

They are a coating company after all and hydro2foam is one of their original products. I will take it off your hands if you don't want it. I'll put it to use.
