Is Klasse AIO / SG still a good product?

I'm new here, as a former Meguire's lots of wash & waxing guy in my younger days. I ignored my car's finish for a good long time since. I don't have the inclination to wash my car every time it rains or gets a minor amount of dirt on it.

But, my car spends a good deal of time outdoors in the sun and I'd like to get a long lasting protection on my car's paint. Doing some research over the weekend, I came to this website and Klass AIO & SG caught my attention mostly because it said can last up to a year. I think I have a good feel of how to apply it after watching some videos on Youtube & a few weblinks from this forum and others.

After surfing a few forums, I don't see Klasse mentioned as much as in years past, is it still a good choice today. My primary interest is durability and protection from the sun. My car shines fine for my liking right after a good washing. If a few coats of Klasse keeps it clean a little longer, all the better. But I really like the idea of only 1 or 2 protection applications a year vs a monthly waxing.

Is a Klasse Combo kit a good place to get started ?

Thanks

i use to swear by them. but as i have tried new things. i dont reach for them much anymore. seem to be harder to remove than other things i try

It is a VERY good place to get started. Just follow the directions and use sparingly.:props:

I like both the AIO and the High Gloss Sealant Glaze. Been using them for a couple of years on both cars here in Minnesota. It took me a bit to get the hang of applying HGSG so it was not so tough to remove but have to say this is the only product I have used that lasts through all the sand, salt and snow we put up with during the MN winter. Use two coats to bring up the shine.
Have found AIO has a lot of uses around the house too. Great for cleaning and polishing kitchen appliances. I also us the AIO to clean the polycarb windshield on my motorcycle, bugs wipe off easily with a little QD.

As siberianrunner pointed out, KAIO is good for lots of things in addition to your car's finish. It did a great job of cleaning up the B-pillars (matte black plastic) on my Toyota, as well as the chrome-finished plastic window trim. I use it to clean and leave some protection on door jambs, hood well and trunk well, and clearcoated wheels. My brother used it on the chrome portion of his truck's nerf bars (NOT the steps, that would make them slick), and on his motorcycle wheel spokes.

Kitchen appliances? I learned a new one, too. Thanks.

good to know. After I chose my product I was interested in, I was starting to get the idea that it was an old product that is more or less dated and that I should be choosing a different product.

With all the brands / products out there, my head was starting to spin a little. I just want to get something that is durable, long lasting and will protect my car's paint finish. Nothing wrong with a little showroom finish as a byproduct.

I plan to use Klasse to seal headlights after I restore em and on aluminum wheels to protect from road grime, Brake dust, & salt.

products are nearly bulletproof when used together, will last six months. SG is a bugger to remove unless you use my spray bottle spritz idea.

This is the method I plan to use.

Buffing with M34 to remove the SG product. It looks like the easiest and most reliable method I've found online. Is that your spray bottle mist idea ????

Transfer 1-2 ounces into a small travel size spray bottle. Spritz once or twice for each panel, buff in, and immediately flip towel and buff off. If you get a stubborn spot, respritz and wipe until gone. Once done allow 8-24 hours for sealant to completely cure to paint.

The AIO is really an All-Purpose-Product...
It is mostly used as an AIO but it is a very good chemical cleaner on its own: so, you can clean windows, door jambs, emblems, exhausts, etc.
You have newer versions of this product (Werkstät, Car-Lack - this, in fact, is the company that produces all of them) but AG doesn't carry them.
The application process is completely surpassed by the easiness of the most recent products to hit the market.

I like the spritz idea, may have to give that a try. I use a MF pad moistened with QD which allows you to work on a very thin coat then buff immediately with a MF towel. Doesn't take long to cover the entire car. As mentioned cure time is important. I've also found that using a paint cleaner like PS21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleaner or Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish creates a surface that makes working the Klasse HGSG work a bit easier.

Was a die hard user, still have un-opened pre voc ban product. The durability and shine is a hard to beat combo. On darker colors, it didn't give the depth as others. It took a couple attempts to get the process down right - you'll know it when you don't. I know reach for other products currently that do not get quit the durability but are much easier to remove and provide more depth.

It's still the best AIO out there in terms of cleaning ability IMO. Others will look better, feel slicker, etc, but it still has it's place in any arsenal.

Any other suggestions for a first product. I'd like to get an order in this weekend. My car is a medium-dark blue. I really want to get a durable UV protection on the car more than a coat of wax. And something that I can use once or twice a year and get me through the Salty winters of Chicago is a must.

My search started @ NuFinish, I was hesitant to go Nu Finish b/c I saw it on an infomercial and weren't enough reviews with all the advertising I've seen. Read about the different finishes and migrated toward Klasse based on some Amazon reviews & durability based on what I saw here on this site's store.

Low maintenance once a durable protectant is applied is preferrable.

Would prefer to keep the cost / value down too. Klasse isn't cheap, but it looks like it should last a good while for what you pay out of pocket.

Thanks

give Duragloss 105/501 a try. It has replaced Klasse as my go to AIO sealant.

I used the NuFinish on my bosses Sequoia last September and have been surprised by it's durability over the winter here in MN. I applied one coat, waited 24 hrs and added a second, applying and removing was really easy. The 2nd coat adds additional slickness and has left the paint surprisingly slick even after weekly gas station car washes over the winter. It's just now getting ready to be re-applied as the dirt/clay from the woods up north is starting to take more than a quick spray with the hose to remove. His wifes Highlander received 1 coat at the same time and was ready for a new coat by the time the snow was melted this spring. Can't beat it's protection for the price, just follow the directions and apply 2 coats.

Well..... I have a couple of LSPs here...
WDGPS 3.0, D301, Collinite #885, DP Max Wax, Klasse SG...
Yes... Klasse is the most difficult to apply, I hated it the first time I tried..... but it was my mistake, applied too thick and the wrong way... anyway.... I just loved the looks of it on my red car... and after toping with DP Max Wax, my car looks really really nice.
I just applied 4 coats of it last week... after 10 months... this time I did it right... no harm... easy on... 1 hr haze... easy off.... on the last coat I decided to go extreme and tried to use excess product to see if it was gonna be a pain to remove..... well it really didn't buffed out with a dry MF only.... but no problem, just spray very very little QD on the towel and it will come off easily....
Of course it's not as easy to use as these new products, but it just happens that I really love the glass looks klasse gives.... it's great, very different from a nuba... your paint looks kind of radiant, even more after 3 coats...
I guess people gets too excited with the new products and forget the old school... but to me, Klasse is one of these products that will never get old, it's what it is and it's really one of the bests sealants out there.
Also Klasse goes a long way.... my car is a hatchback, each layer of it consumed only 1/4 of a FL ounce.
Just transfer it to a little 1/2 ounce spray bottle.... spray it on a MF applicator pad (much better than using foam) and spread it very thin, you must see it flash or else you probably applied too much...
And klasse will fill a little... but just a little.... enough to make me happy as I'm without a polisher to polish my car again ATM.

I'm keeping open minded, but still leaning toward Klasse combo kit, the Dupont mixture sounded interesting, but I don't want to get into mixing and blending different products right now. Maybe some point in the future if I feel I need additional luster. I'd rather just apply a product and then another if needed.

How many microfiber towels will I need to apply a coat of SG? I'm gonna use the Wet / Dry towel method with M34 on the wet towel for SG removal.

Also, can I just throw soiled micro fiber towels & applicators it in a front loaded washer to clean them.- or - do I have to worry about the finish coming off in washing machine and getting on other clothes when doing laundry. OR - should I be pre-soaking in a Bucket of Dawn before machine washing - or do I just toss towels after applying Sealants?

My past experience has always been using old cotton T-shirts for waxing cars and throwing them away when they got dirty.
