Or am I better off just picking up the Gold Class locally? Does it do anything better?

I think GC is great at not scratching but it seems top leave some more dirt behind compared to some other soaps I have. Like Poor Boys.

I use them both GC works great on black as does SPlus
It will be in my staple for a while as I bought ten 64oz from Walmart at $3 each!
As for dirt left behind ... I suspect it might be the user as any soap will wipe clean with a good pass and any soap

Gold Class is a great OTC wash and I've always enjoyed using it. Shampoo Plus is a little stronger cleaning wise, but I think Gold Class is softer on the paint. It feels really thick and does the job well. If dirt is left over, just rinse your mitt and go over the spot again with a fresh mitt of suds.

If you want a great OTC shampoo, I would recommend Duragloss hands down. It is extremely slick, great cleaning ability and a little goes a long way.

I have and use both. IMO they are very similar in cleaning ability and lubracicity. The fact that GC is available OTC and some times at a great price I would stick with it unless you can get SP+ with free shipping to make the price per oz comparable.

When I use Gold Class I always put more than the recommended dosage, do you think there's anything wrong with that?

It just feels better knowing it's extra soapy.

Flip, you are a wildman..upping the dose! There are no car-wash/shampoo police so you are safe!

Both work great, but shampoo + is cheaper IMHO.....Gold class is NOT avaiable by the gallon(148oz)around here anywhere! DG is a GREAT Shampoo and is the one I use most!

Before I found AG, Gold Class is all I used. I really liked the wash. Now I just use it for cleaning the wheels and tires. I start off with two buckets for the wheels, and then use two different buckets for the car itself.

By mixing soap stronger then the recommended ratio you could potentially be diminishing your LSP faster. Not a big deal if you wax often but it's something to consider if you want the most durability out of your LSP. ;)

Any better? NO, either one is going to be fine

You didn't ask but I see others commenting so I am inspired. Take a good look at Ultima, Optimum, Duragloss, and Dodo BTBM.

Where OTC do people find DG products? Wally world here just has megs deep crystal, turtle wax, black magic, and something else I cannot remember

I have seen "some" of their products at Carquest Auto Parts Stores. (my preferred parts store)

Some Napa stores as well. Most of the DG stuff out here in Cali is at the warehouse not the store so purchase online and have delivered to the store for pickup. The wash is like $6 if i remember correctly as I usually get 4 of them since they do not stock the gallons.

I use the megs ultimate wash and wax. It just seems more slippery and softer on the paint to me and I like that it adds a little wax on top of my sealant. It suds really well too. It was on sale one day, same price as the gold class so I gave it a shot.

Most Napa stores carry DG products on a limited basis.....you should be able to at least find DG901 car wash soap.
