Is this repairable?

I'm going to be doing my first detail using a polisher. I just got the cyclo pro for Xmas. I'm going to be polishing my fiancées car. It's a 2009 Mercedes slk300. It has lots of swirls and scratches and there is a spot next to the rear glass that is in bad shape. Does anyone know if this can be repaired? View attachment 31915

On that gloss black sail panel trim, I'd say no. It's hard to tell what's going on there from the picture, but usually the clear fails on that stuff and there's nothing you can do about it.
