Hello. Looking for some advice on water spots on a black car. I noticed after washing my car for the first time after the winter that there were noticeable water spots on my trunk. I'm not sure if I took too long to wash or dry, but they are there. Will a waterless wash or detail spray remove these? If not what can I use? Would a good car shampoo remove these spots?
My go to products to wax/seal the car lately after cleaning have been Meguiars GC Quik Wax, and Beadmaker. I noticed that after just 1 rainfall there are water spots galore. Also I understand these products don't do much for protection/durability. Looking for something more durable, something in the 1 month range, that will help repel water spots somewhat, and help keep my black car looking good. Thanks!

You will need to polish (abrade) the paint to remove the water spots if they are etched in.

Do you own a machine polisher? What kind of car? Any pics?

I agree. My experience is that if washing does not remove the water spots, then nothing short of polishing will.

I would suggest you to try removing water spots chemically first. If they don't get removed, then try polish. Also don't go crazy with polishing.

And this is why I wrote this article,

What's in the water?
